Chapter 16, I Can Confide without being Judged

My brothers had finally ticked me off. Why can't they understand that i did this for Ryan? I was only  trying to help. But instead they yelled at me for acting so stupid and for putting myself in danger. It wasn't dangerous at all, it was actually fun. Even Shawn was pissed at me for doing it. I don't know why.

"Kara!! Get back here. We still need to talk!!!" Landon Yelled at me as i ran away still in gear. I didn't know where i was going but i needed to leave. My brothers stopped following me a while back. I ended up somewhere in a dark neighborhood all alone. I found a small park and sat down on the swing lightly pushing myself with just my foot. I was stupid for running away and lying to them but it was for the greater good of Ryan and Lilly. They appreciate it which all that matters. As i sat there all by myself i look up to see that no one is around at all. I sit there thinking about what to say to my brother's when i get back. I know they are going to yell at me but i just wanted to help out. I look at my cell phone to see that it is now 10:30 at night. I have twenty texts from Colton, twenty from Landon, and twenty from Shawn. I had a few voice mails from some very angry brothers. 

I pick my body off the swing and start walking home. On my way home a car slows down next to me and a familiar face pops through the window.

"Hey Kara! Are you ok?" 

"Yeah Richy. I just got into some stupid trouble with my brothers." I said back starting to shiver from the cold.

"oh, do you want a ride?" he asks. I say sure and then climb in. I ended up telling him how i wanted to help my friend but got in trouble for doing a stupid stunt of joining the lacrosse team. He dropped me off at my house. As soon as i walk in through the door, I get bombarded with questions from my brothers.

"Kara! Where they heck did you go? and Who was that boy?" Landon asked standing a bit to close for comfort.

"I just had to take a break you guys. I just wanted to help but i guess i screwed up." I said looking down at the ground.

"Kara, we are disappointed in you for not talking to us about this. You can never screw up in our eyes but you do make some mistakes and that's ok. We just want you to be safe Kara. That's all Colton and I ask for. And you playing lacrosse especially without us knowing, you could've been hurt." Landon said with sadness in his voice. I look up to see that he is looking sympathetic at me.

"Okay, next time ill tell you guys. I'm sorry i just wanted to help." I said pulling Landon into a hug.

"Okay, but Kara no phone for a week." Landon said shooing me off to bed. I climb in to bed in my pj's. I lay in bed hoping that Shawn wouldn't be to mad at me for doing this. I also think about Richy and how i was able to talk to him without feeling like he's gonna change me.
