You walk into the room and I
I, I-I, I, I, I-I, I.
I wanna tell ya, tell ya, but I just can't speak.

I sat down, across the room from Mike. He's just so wonderful, so lovely, so breathtaking. I could never be his.

This shouldn't be so difficult.
Why-y. why-why-why-why-why-why,
Tell me why I see you and I just can't breathe.

I want to be with him. But when I tried to talk to him, I just can't speak. He's so perfect. I can only look at him from far away.

You're like a bullet, girl, to my heart,
You're like a very far shooting star,
The very thing that I need,
Look at how you get to me

When I see him talking to someone else, I can't help but feel a little pain through my heart. I need him, I need to talk to him.

I can never be myself,
How can I when I'm stuck in hell?
Stutterin', stutterin', stuttereh-ing
Stutterin', stutterin', stuttereh-ing

"H-h-hey, I'm Joe Billie, wait- shit, I mean Billie Joe, and, uh, would you- would you like to be friends? I mean, if you don't want to be th-that's cool, I-I-I understand."

"Oh, I mean, um, sure."

Wanna tell you how I feel inside
But every time I go and try
Mutterin', mutterin', muttereh-ing

"I also like you very much," I said under my breath.

"What was that?"

Stutterin', stutterin', stuttereh-ing

"N-Not-Nothing."

He turned to leave.

Don't leave,
I know I effed it up,
That's my luck,
That's just my luh uh uck.
Here I go, Here I go and do it a-gain

"Wa-wait, d-d-do you want to exchange numbers or some-something?"

"Yeah, sure, whatever."

He passed me his phone with a new contact opened. I typed down my number and name and handed it back to him.

Your type,
And I'm just so tongue tuh-ied.
Why-why-why, why can't I get it right?

He looked at his phone and typed a quick message.

My phone buzzed and all I saw was a "Hey." I replied to it, and he smiled at me. I felt a blush run up my face.

"I-I-I-I think I should go to the bathroom real quick," I said, rushing around the corner

The words just won't come out,
They wanna take me down
But I'm still around

I took a deep breath before and waited a few minutes to check if he was still there. He left to go talk to his other friends. Understandable.

You're like a bullet, girl, to my heart
You're like a very far shooting star,
The very thing that I need
Look at how you get to me

I looked at my phone and saw a new message.

(1) new message from Unknown

I hope it is Mike.

I can never be myself,
How can I when I'm stuck in hell?
Stutterin', stutterin', stuttereh-ing
Stutterin', stutterin', stuttereh-ing

'Meet me by the bathroom after the party.'

I replied a quick yes before placing my phone away and finding something to do before then.

Wanna tell you how I feel inside
But every time I go and try
Mutterin', mutterin', muttereh-ing

I saw a couple of guys playing beer pong. I decided to join and I saw Mike already there. It became my turn faster than I thought and I bounced the ball into the cup. I hit the ball into the final cup and Mike hugged me super hard. This felt amazing.

Stutterin', stutterin', stuttereh-ing

"You're so good!" He said. I smiled at him.

"Th-thanks."

You're like a bullet, girl, to my heart
You're like a very far shooting star,
The very thing that I need
Look at how you get to me

The game ended and I was slightly tipsy. Mike disappeared into the crowd, and there was about an hour left of the party.

You're like a bullet, girl, to my heart
You're like a very far shooting star
The very thing that I need
Look at how you get to me

I found Tré and talked to him for a while. Once he learned I got Mike's number, he got really excited and hugged me. It didn't feel the same as Mike's but I appreciated it.

I can never be myself,
How can I when I'm stuck in hell?
Stutterin', stutterin', stuttereh-ing
Stutterin', stutterin', stuttereh-ing

After a while, I felt a tap on my arm and saw Mike standing next to me. I blushed and stood up. He beckoned me to follow him to the bathroom area. Once we were alone, he took a deep breath and kissed me.

Wanna tell you how I feel inside
But every time I go and try
Mutterin', mutterin', muttereh-ing

"M-Mike? What was that for? I loved it." I muttered the last part, hoping he didn't hear it.

"I- it's just- I really like you and have for a long time."

Stutterin', stutterin', stuttereh-ing

"Me too."

Muttereh-ing.

I grabbed his hand and led him back out into the main room where a few people who were too drunk to drive home stayed behind.

Stuttereh, stuttereh, stuttereh-ing

"I-I can't believe this."

"Go on a date with me?" He asked me, smiling.

"Yes."
