Billie looked in the mirror and frowned. The way he, no, that doesn't sound right. The way...they looked. Better. They looked so masculine. They continued to look in the mirror, feeling tears in their eyes.

Suddenly, the front door opened and closed.

"Billie? Where are you, Prince?" Mike called out. That nickname hurt a little. Billie covered their mouth as they began to sob a little.

"Billie?" Mike's voice was closer this time.

Billie moved to the spot between the bathtub and the toilet. They pulled their legs to their chest and waited for Mike to pass by.

"Bill? C'mon, this isn't funny, come on out."

Billie wiped their tears, trying their best to look like they weren't just crying and carefully stepped out of the bathroom.

Mike saw them and rushed over.

"There you are, I was getting worried."

"I'm sorry," Billie cringed at their voice. It sounded deep.

"What are you sorry about? Come here," Mike opened his arms and Billie walked over, immediately feeling safe.

"I just...don't feel like a boy. I sound and look like one, but I don't feel like it. But then again, I don't feel like a girl. I just feel...in between," Billie confessed. They rested their head into Mike's shoulder. Mike picked up the smaller and brought them to the couch.

"B, do you think that you might be nonbinary?" he asked in a soothing voice, petting his hair.

"Maybe...what is that?"

"It's when a person doesn't identify as a boy of girl, they are just them."

"Yeah, I feel like that," Billie said, keeping their head on Mike's shoulder.

"Do you want to stay prince or do you want something different? Or even do you just not want to be Billie and use a different name?"

"Can you not use gendered pet names? And can I just be B?" They said, sitting up

"Most definitely, you are so adorable, my little bunny."

B blushed and tried to hide their face in Mike's shoulder again. Mike laughed at their action and just held them tightly.
