~1808~
Alice's POV

I am 26 now. I became captain of a pirate ship.

I became a pirate.

The old Alice died when Philip did.

I am someone else now.

But the pain never goes away.

I never took my engagement ring off.

I always have it on me, around my neck. I use it as a necklace.

Every night, I read the letters he wrote me since we were fourteen.

It's been seven years. Seven miserable years without Philip. But I've grown.

I know that Philip wouldn't want me to be cut out of the world for ever.

I might have changed but I'm still alive.

And after telling my story to Peter, I had a flash.

I haven't seen my family since.

I only got letters from them.

They told me how they tried to look for me but never found me.

They told me a lot of things.

Things have changed.

I also learnt that Philip's little sister, Angelica had a trauma since and she doesn't talk or recognise anybody.

Ms and Mr Hamilton didn't only loose Philip but they also lost Angelica.

I read on the papers one day in 1804 that Mr Alexander Hamilton also had passed away.

I wonder how Ms Hamilton is doing.

I heard she moved uptown.

I can...I can maybe...finally after all these years...visit her.

"Now you know my name, and my story." I finished to Peter.

Peter was completely speechless.

"I-I- I don't know what to say. Alice, I'm very sorry for everything." he said to me.

I sighed and gave him a soft smile.

"I think I finally wanted to visit Philip's mother." I admitted.

"Are you sure?" he asked me in concern.

"Yes. It's been seven years. It's now or never." I told him.

* * *

A few weeks later, I've arrived at Ms Hamilton's door.

For the first time in years, my hair was curled and styled with a bow like the old days.

I wore the same dress I wore when it all happened.

I was clean and good looking.

I was much more tanned than last time since I've been under the sun for the past seven years.

I summoned up all my courage and knocked on the door three times.

I heard small footsteps and a little boy opened the door. I didn't recognise him.

"Hello you! Is Ms Hamilton here?" I asked him kindly. I thought I had the wrong address.

"Um. Wait a second please!" he said.

I nodded and smiled again even tho it was getting harder to hide my emotions.

"Mum! A lady is looking fo you at the door!" he screamed.

"Mum?" I asked in confusion.

He nodded and gave me a smile.

"My name is Philip by the way, and I just turned six!" he said proudly still waiting for his mother to come.

My heart stopped.

I couldn't believe it.

And then a woman approached the door with a plate of fresh baked cookies, she gave one to the little Philip and turned her face to me.

Her eyes immediately widened to reveal her face in shock.

She gasped and dropped the plate on the ground.

"Alice." she gasped again, I could see tears filling up her eyes.

I tilted my head and gave her a soft smile trying to hide my tears.

She took me in her arms and we hugged for an eternity.
