"Mom?" I stared at her with wide eyes. She approached us with a small smile on her face. "Why are you here?" I saw Sue, who was holding a big bag with food. She locked my mother's car and headed to the house.
"Patrick and Maggie invited me" Billie and I shared looks. "I hope it's okay with you to spend Christmas with your mother, Tinley" Her fake kind voice made me shiver.
"It is okay, I'm just surprised that you decided to come" I mumbled and my mom sent me one more smile before she hugged Sue with one arm and they both entered the house, leaving me and Billie alone outside.
"You good?" Bil hugged me from behind and put her chin on my shoulder. I nodded and we enjoyed the snowy weather for a few more seconds.
The view was really magical. Snow covered everything around us, our garlands were shining brightly, and it was getting dark. I shivered because it was kinda cold and Billie gently pushed me to the door and we entered the house. Everyone was in the kitchen, probably preparing food or just talking.
"Billie! Come here!" We heard Maggie's scream and quickly headed to the kitchen. I was the first on to walk in and I sighed as I saw what was the reason. Cookies. "I know that it was you" Mrs. O'Connell crossed her arms on her chest and it seemed like she was about to laugh but also it was kinda embarrassing for her because of my family there.
"I guess you're right" Billie smiled too widely and Maggie groaned, turning her head to my mother.
"I'm so sorry, Elena, she is like that all the time" My mom just nodded and smiled a little bit. I still don't know why she is here. She was so mad that Billie's parents support our relationship and now she is about to celebrate Christmas with us.
"Not gonna lie, I like these cookies, not like an ordinary ones" My dad said, holding a smile, and Patrick chuckled.
"You haven't seen her Halloween pumpkin at school, that was embarrassing" Mr. O'Connell unlocked his phone and showed something to my dad, probably that picture of pumpkin. They both laughed and I found it adorable. I love how our families get along.
"Everybody have put the Christmas presents under the tree?" Maggie asked as she put some fruits in the bowl. We nodded and Billie grabbed my wrist, dragging me to the living room. We flopped down on the armchair in front of the fireplace and she pulled me closer, so I was on her lap.
"How should I act in front of your mother?" Her nose tickled my neck and I giggled, pushing her head gently but Billie tightened her grip around my waist and my body pressed to hers.
"The same way you act in front of my dad. We can't make out, obviously, but I don't care about what she thinks about us. Hold my hand whenever you want it" Her hands ended up on my hips and I was kissing her neck slowly.
"Already the best Christmas in my life" I smiled at her words. "Ew, we're cheesy as fuck, that's disgusting"
"Agree. Wanna fight over the last bag of Takis?" Billie glared at me as soon as I said that. "What?"
"Get the fuck out of my lap, bitch, I'm gonna get my Takis" She pushed me off and I landed on my ass. But I didn't want to give it to her that easy so I got up and ran after her, I bumped into her in the kitchen as she was looking for her favorite snack.
"What's going on?" Maggie asked as Billie ran past her. "Billie, stop running!"
"Where the fuck is my Takis?" As she asked it I saw a small package in one of the bags we brought with us today's morning.
I grabbed it quickly and ran to the terrace because this little blue-haired monster already was on her way to beat me up for Takis. I ran past my dad and Patrick, they were talking about something and immediately stopped as we ran past them and Billie jumped on my back so we both fell on the floor. She tried to reach for the package of Takis, but I was holding it really tight.
