***Note to reader: If you've been keeping up with this story chapter by chapter, I realized I needed to give the main character a full name, so it will be y/n (your name) Nakano. I need to go back and do some edits because of this and I may also create a character profile to make my writing flow more easily.***

***Another note made several months later - I suck at editing and I never went back to edit/still probably won't because I'm lazy. This is the point where I switch to more of an OC style. I reference Nakano having long black hair and green eyes. I really thought that the best way I could write freely is if I had a character in mind as opposed to using h/c, e/c, f/c and all that business. Surprisingly, I haven't gotten a lot of hate for it but I have noticed a few comments pointing out how I should just give her a name and switch it to OC. Literally that's all it would take. But I'm going to continue using y/n because I want to. If the fact that I occasionally reference her black hair and green eyes is going to bother you, jump ship now although I've put a lot of time and effort into this piece of work and I think it's worth the read. Ha, I'm obviously hella biased. Anyways, have a good day and please be kind.***

"As you can see, we have a transfer. As I'm sure you're all aware by now, Hagakure had a family emergency. As a result, she needed to drop out of the hero course so that she can be with her family at this time." He looked at me then and waved me up to the front of the classroom. "So let's get introductions over with."

I rose from my seat and took a few steps forward, trying to portray a confidence that I didn't quite feel. "Hey," I said, waving my hand awkwardly. "I'm y/n Nakano. I was in the general studies course before I transferred. I participated in the sports festival with a lot of you and I look forward to getting to know you now that we're in class together."

"So what exactly is your quirk again?" One of the girls asked. Her hair was a shade of deep purple with two strips of hair hanging on either side of her face. What appeared to be two earphone jacks were connected to her earlobes and they rested on the front of her uniform.

"Well," I paused for a moment, trying to steady my nerves. I hated this part, explaining my quirk to others. I was usually given an unimpressed response, followed by a general avoidance of me. Useless quirk. My father's voice rung through my mind and I shook my head firmly to rid the thought. "I can project emotions onto other people. And if I make physical contact with someone I can tell what emotions they are feeling."

"Oh!" Kirishima exclaimed. "That makes so much more sense now! But then how did you make me feel physical pain?"

There were murmers around the classroom and I felt my cheeks get hot. "I...I don't..."

"Moving on," Mr. Aizawa's voice cut through the classroom and the room fell silent again. My eyes were solidly planted downward as I made my way back to my desk. At the last second I lifted my head and in that moment my eyes met his. For what felt like a millisecond, Bakugo's liquid red eyes looked unguarded before they narrowed and looked away. I tried to focus on the lesson plans that were being taught but for some reason I kept thinking about those eyes.

By the time lunch rolled around I gladly welcomed the break. I was so consumed in my desire to get my chicken fried rice that once I had my tray I froze, realizing that I didn't know where to sit. I had slowly begun to learn names and saw that Midoriya, the class representative Iida and pink cheeks Uraraka were sitting at a table together. They talked excitedly with one another and seemed to be content in each other's company. They probably wouldn't want me to intrude. I thought and was just about to start heading toward an empty table when I felt a hand on my shoulder.

When I turned I was met with golden eyes swimming in pools of darkness. Mina smiled brightly and snaked her arm through mine. "Hey, Nakano! Come sit with us!"
