Kirishima and Kaminari had already assisted the couple up onto the ledge by the time I got back.

"I saw that the others started making a first aid station down on the ground level," I said as I rejoined the group. "Are you two okay to walk?"

The woman looked indignant for a moment before she dramatically put a hand to her chest as though to clutch her pearls. "We are victims of a villain attack and you're asking us to just walk ourselves there? We have been traumatized!"

That's not even what I meant! I thought, but suppressed the urge to point this out right away, knowing that it would come across sounding defensive and harsh. Instead, I took a deep breath and smiled at them before reaching out a hand to gently rest on the woman's shoulder. I imagined the feeling of calm like a warm, glowing orange wave of energy rolling down my arm, into my hand and transferring to her. I could feel her shoulders relax as I spoke.

"Of course not. What I meant is, do you have any injuries that impact your ability to walk? If so, one of us can carry you."

"Oh," The woman said, before turning to look at her partner. A secret exchange seemed to occur between them as they held each other's gaze for a few seconds before the man nodded slightly. The woman turned back to me, a smile tugging at her lips. "We thank you, heroes. I misspoke just now. We are shaken up, but I'm feeling a bit better now. And yes, we can walk. If you point us in the direction of the first aid station, we should be able to make it on our own."

"Of course, follow me," I said, ushering them forward before flashing a thumbs up to Kirishima and Kaminari.

"We're going to head this way," Kirishima said, pointing in one direction before saying, "We'll cover more ground if you and Bakugo go that way."

I simply nodded as he pointed in the opposite direction, not wanting to verbalize that I wasn't even sure if Katsuki was going to come back this way or go off on his own.

"It's going to be okay," I said, although it was more for myself than for the couple I was escorting.

I hate that I should be focused on the test but now I'm just worried about Katsuki failing. I know that he's been struggling lately and he never wants to talk about it, but I think that if he doesn't pass he's just going to feel worse. Why did I have to fall in love with such a stubborn boy? A stubborn boy that is strong and smart and fiercely loyal and looks like he's fucking chiseled like a Greek God...nope! No, I can't think about that right now. Get it together!

I spotted the first aid station off in the distance and pointed it out as I began turning back to the couple. "The first aid station is just over -"

I froze when I saw Katsuki come up behind us. Despite his calm appearance my heart began to hammer in my chest as the couple turned around to follow my gaze.

"Do you need someone to walk with you or can you make it from here?"

There was no venom in his voice, no underlying sarcasm or anger seeping through his words. He was being direct and straightforward, his calm gaze seeming to unnerve the couple more than his explosive outburst from earlier.

"Not from you, thanks," The woman said, rather snarkily, as she turned to begin walking towards the first aid station.

The man stayed a moment longer, his eyes lingering on Katsuki as he waited for a reaction, but there was none. He turned to me and nodded as though satisfied before following in the wake of his partner. I let out a breath I didn't realize I was holding before.

"You came back."

"Come on, I found someone that needs saving," He said, completely side stepping my comment before turning to begin jogging away.
