My adrenaline continued to rush until Bakugo's screams had faded into nothing. Shinso and I walked in silence, my thoughts racing, as I tried to figure out what the hell to even say after everything blew up like that.

'Sorry about that?' No, I'm not apologizing on his behalf. Why the hell did Bakugo even freak out like that and go after Shinso? I get the whole not being a knight in shining armor comment even though it kind of made me feel like shit but he doesn't even know Shinso. And the comment about him being my boyfriend? Does he really think that?

Shinso was the first to break the silence. "I'll walk you home."

We were already at the outside gates and I nodded once before a sudden realization hit me. "Awww shit, I didn't even grab my bag from class!"

"Okay, I'll come with you," He said and started heading back towards the building.

"Shinso, wait!" I grabbed his arm to stop him and he turned back to look at me, his eyes like two calm pools of liquid lavender. "What if..."

"That hot headed maniac is still around?" He scoffed and rolled his eyes. "Then I'll tell him to fuck off."

I scrunched my face up, considering the implications of what this would actually entail if he were to use his quirk and demand that Bakugo fuck off. "Well -" I started, but Shinso cut me off.

"Why did you stop me?" His voice was calm but his eyes had become more intense.

Suddenly it felt like the sun was beating down on me despite the mild temperature outside as I felt heat radiate throughout my body. "Well, I just...I," My words felt like molasses seeping out of my mouth as I tripped over them. "I didn't want him to hurt you."

"Him to hurt me?" His words were surprisingly sharp before he let out a short laugh. "Seriously? Do you have that little faith in me?"

His words made me shrink back as I let go of his arm. "No, of course not,"

"It's because you like him, isn't it?" His words came out softly and then hung in the air between us like an invisible barrier.

I stopped breathing. The tightness in my chest expanded as his eyes met mine. There was the faintest hint of sadness in them although he had perfected his poker face over the years so if I didn't know him as well as I did, I wouldn't have caught it.

Since my words were caught in my throat, I vigorously shook my head. "Nope, no, no, no!" I choked out, waving my arms back and forth as well to emphasize the point.

Looking down, he shook his head and walked past me to start heading towards the gate.

"Wait, where are you going?" I asked, taking a step towards him.

"Home. You obviously don't want me coming with you to get your stuff," he said, without looking back.

"But -"

"Y/n," he said, turning back to face me.

This made me freeze, mid-walk. He only called me by my first name on rare occasions and it was usually when he had something serious to say.

"Bakugo is not a good guy. I've heard nothing but horrible stories about him. He's arrogant, short tempered and abusive to anyone around him." The word abusive made me flinch. "I don't know what your relationship is like with that boy right now, but please, please," His pleading eyes bore into my own. "Cut it off now. The only one I'm concerned about getting hurt by that boy is you."

He didn't wait for a response to turn around and start walking away but even if he had, I wouldn't have been able to form one as I felt a lump rise in my throat and the familiar sting of tears burn my eyes.
