Lonnie's P.O.V.

We took Shaunder home to his mother, and with Philip carrying Kate, we started to head home. I don't know why he chose the job to carry her. Maybe he has a thing for her or something... nope. We've got no time for that now.

Finally, after a few minutes of walking, we reached Blake's house, and we carefully laid Kate on her bed, replacing the leaves with bandages, turning frozen solid. I laid a blanket on her, hoping she would be comfortable. Philip went home early, leaving us alone.

I padded slowly outside, gently closing the door behind me. I sighed; I kind of missed her presence when she was awake. The house wasn't the same without her.

Well, I do hope she'll get well soon. We used to read books together, except Blake; he wasn't that much of a bookworm.

It was afternoon, and Blake was outside watching the sunset. I walked up to the Charmeleon and sat beside him.

"She awake yet?"

"No."

"Geez, seeing her sleeping for hours seemed like a year to me."

"Yeah, s-same..."

Then he turned to me and hugged me. The shade of red was deep on my face. To be honest I... kinda had... a crush on him. "Cheer up."

"Eh?"

"It's not like you're the one who's injured. At least she's safe... for now..."

"I just missed her being awake... that's all..."

"You know what?" Blake chuckled as he broke the hug. "You sound like a sister to her..."

"I wish."

"I'll go cook dinner." Blake says. "You should go check on Kate. I'll be right back."

I heaved another sigh as he left. I lied on my back on the grass, weary from the long day. The flowers around me felt my presence, and they started dancing as I approached them.

I smiled and let out some aroma from my leaves, causing the flowers to dance faster with the air in delight. I sniffed the air and grinned; it felt so nice.

I went back inside, closing the door behind me. I padded quietly to Kate's room and carefully opened the door. She was still unconscious, and I jumped in surprize when she suddenly stirred and flinched.

Her ears twitched and her eyes fluttered open; she's waking up!

"Ow...." She muttered. "W-what... happened?" She slowly got up and rubbed her eyes with her left paw.

"Kate!" I beamed as I ran towards her and gave her a hug. She hugged me back and suddenly, her smile tilted into a frown.

"Norsoe... did this..." Kate rasped.

"Yes... He might... but did he send Pokémon to attack you?"

"Yes. What he did... was unforgivable!"

I was taken aback with her anger, and she tried to stand up but she failed. Luckily, I caught her with my vines and helped her up.

"You shouldn't push yourself." I told her.

"I know.... sorry for making you worried." She sighed and sat on the floor. "Where's Shaunder?"

"We brought him home to Icicle." I said. The Glaceon gasped when she turned to the mirror.

"I look like a mummy!" She blurted out. I dropped to the floor and started laughing really hard. It was true! She has bandages almost in every part of her body! She glared at me, which made me laugh even harder. Later, she sighed in defeat, her face turning red in embarassment.

"And... b-by the way..." She spoke in a distant voice. "Its... its my birthday today..."

I stopped laughing and stared at her.

"Your birthday?!"

"Yes...?"

"Arceus! I have to tell Blake!" I screamed and dashed towards the kitchen.

"Where are you going?" She asked.

What was she thinking this time? I thought to myself. My shoulder hurts, so I was forced to walk around with a limp. Well, actually, my whole body hurt, and I was almost full with bandages. I turned my head and saw my scarf on a corner. I noticed it had a big tear on it.

I frowned as I held it on my paws. It held some big and important memories; I couldn't bear to lose it.

I guess I had to take it somewhere in town in order to fix it. To a tailor, maybe.

Still, I couldn't believe Norsoe planned to kill me... on my birthday. On my birthday! My- birthday!!! It was an important day for me, and he was planning to make it the worst day of my life?! Unbelievable!

He was the worst; I knew it was him all along. Can he just give me a rest?! Argh! He's the worst.... the worst...

I was angry, okay?! I was looking forward to have just a normal day, now.... this?! I already had enough and I already suffered enough! He already took my parents away from me, and now- he was planning to take my life away too?! It was unfair and unjust! Pure evil; that's what he is.

It doesn't feel right, and it hurt more than any injury I could take. I felt my paws dig deeper to the ground in frustration. He caused me nothing but aggravation. I sighed and stared at the door, and I took a step outside.

Part of me told me to lock myself in my room, and another part of me told me to go out, right with my friends. And I chose my other part. What reason do I have to lock myself in my room, anyway? It was better to calm myself down than to thrash out in rage mode.

I was unintentionally deep in my thoughs when a vine grabbed me by my tail, yanking me backwards. I backtracked and stared at the grass fox.

"Not yet!"

"Huh? What do you mean?"

"I said-not yet!"

"Why?"

"You wouldn't want to know~"

"How could I know?!" I asked, annoyed.

"Surprize!" Came a voice behind me. I turned around and saw Blake- with an enormous stack of pancakes along with a candle on top of it!

"Happy Seventeenth Birthday Kate!" They greeted. I... was literally... speechless. So that's why she dashed into the kitchen! I bit my lower lip; I had to stop myself from bursting into tears in front of them. I'm actually celebrating my birthday, with them!

"Awww.... T-Thanks, g-guys..." I whispered and embraced them. They hugged me back with huge smiles on their faces. They are so nice to me even though I'm human and completely different from them. I'm really happy with them, which was completely different from my world, living alone in a small apartment with no friends except for wild Pokémon.

In here I have friends, and they are both dear to me. What if... I don't want want to go back at all...?
