He always knows what to do.

This shouldn't be too hard, I thought to myself.

The industrial environment seemed empty as I wondered through the streets. I felt the urge to reach out and take (Y/N)'s hand, but that's dumb. She's not here. She doesn't even want to see me.

How dare she invade on my problems like that?

With a sigh, I shook my head. She was only trying to help. . .

Focus, Shoto.

"Another person has just passed. That's 54 people. Halfway done. . . " Mera muttered over the intercom.

I can't just wait around anymore, can I?

I began searching for other participants. There was still probably around 1200 people in the arena. Where are they?

An orange ball came screaming from behind. With ease, I shot a wave of fire at the ball, burning it to a crisp.

"That was pretty good!" A voice called out from above. "As expected of the runner-up of the U.A. Sports Festival. . ."

Ten people were spread out, perched on various industrial structures. Their costumes resembled those of ninjas or samurais, each a different color.

"Todoroki, right? I can't believe you're acting alone. That's amazing." The same guy mocked. He dawned a red suit. "You must be really confident."

"Or arrogant." Sneered another in yellow.

"It's one-on-ten, you know." A girl in blue stated the obvious. "What're you gonna do?"

I readied my hand, preparing to dazzle them with ice. "Thanks for going through the trouble to find me. Took the pressure off of me."

"Aren't you cool?" The red ninja taunted.

That was the others' cue to attack. Four of them openly threw an orange ball towards me. No quirks or anything - just pure strength.

That's dumb.

I slammed my palm into the ground, erupting a huge crystal statue of ice as a shield. The four of them gawked at how easily the balls bounced off. Amateurs. . .

"What!? I can't move!" One of them shouted.

In the same instant, I had spread my ice to trap them in place. If they can't move, then taking them out will be easy.

With confidence, I spun one of the orange balls in my hand. "Are you sure you guys watched the Sports Festival?"

"Of course we watched it!" The red ninja spat back, hurling a bolt screw that grew in size by a multiple of at least 100. I merely sent another wave of ice to block the thing. A quirk that makes things bigger, eh?

Red Ninja was defensive of his pride."That's not all!" He cried, spiking two nails that also grew in size into the ice.

One after another, bolt screws and nails impaled themselves in my ice as I planned my attack. Should I go all out? There could be more people lurking nearby. . .

My thought was interrupted when the ice shield broke just as another bolt screw came careening towards my face. Without hesitation, I shot flames at the thing to melt it. Except that nothing happened.

At the last second I rolled out of the way, the bolt screw creating a crater in the ground where I had just been standing. My flames didn't affect it at all. . ?
