Jaiden POV
We needed help. I wasn't going to just stand around and watch as this pack disintegrated just so that I could keep my pride. I wasn't afraid to ask for help.
Well. I wasn't anymore.
The moment that saw the pain in Anna's eyes after she found out her sister had died, I vowed to do everything I could do to stop her feeling like that again.
Even if it meant asking my little sister for help.
I sighed. My sister was the alpha of the American werewolf pack. She was a force to be reckoned with, but she was still my little sister and I hated to tell her that I was in a state which required her help.
I looked up as Ben walked into my room. I hadn't seen much of him over the past few weeks. To be honest I was avoiding him, I just couldn't handle being around him, planning my bonding ceremony, when his mate had just died. It just felt awkward and forced, which was something I had never experienced with him before. Ben was my best friend, yet I didn't know how to be there fore him and just ended up ignoring the fact that light in his eyes had died. That he was no longer the young spirited man I knew.
"She's here," he informed me before turning around and leaving the room.
I clenched my jaw at his distance but stood and followed him anyway.
This was going to be fun.
Note my sarcasm.
"Brother!" Gemma shouted as she ran across the room pulling me into a bear hug.
"Gemma." I smiled hugging her back.
She let go of me with a huge smile on her face, "It's good to see you Jai. I can't believe your ceremony's like in four days. My big bothers finally growing up."
I rolled my eyes at her but couldn't stop the wide grin the spread over my features at her teasing tone.
Ben walked over to us and held out his hand, "Nice to see you again Alpha Moore."
Gemma softened and instead of talking his hand she pulled him into hug.
"Don't be silly Benny, no need for formalities." She pulled away but left her hands resting on his shoulders. "I'm so so sorry. I know what it feels like to loose a mate that you've never really met. I know that pain."
Ben patted her hand as she pulled away fully and gave her a sad smile, "Thanks Gem, maybe we could, I don't know, talk?"
"I think that'd be nice, but first don't we have some kind of meeting to attend? Plus I want to meet my future sister in law." With that my darling sister turned away from us and headed in the detection of the strategy room. How she knew where she was going I have no idea.
Once we entered the strategy room I took a seat at the head of the large table that was situated in the middle of the room. Several others came and sat down with me, Alpha Delacroix and his Beta Gray. My sister and her beta named Chad and her third called Cale, I think they were twins... Ben came and sat down as did Jared. To my surprise Camilla also joined our table.
"I thought it would be good for my daughter to join us, since she will be the Luna queen soon," Alpha Delacroix sneered.
Camilla looked smug at being asked to stay but I knew that the moment we opened our mouths to actually talk about things that matter they she would wish she had stayed away.
She wasn't the type of girl to care about anything but fashion, beauty and power.
"So what's happening?" Gemma asked after we had all made our introductions.
