Jaiden POV
My heart was beating so fast in my chest and it wasn't because I was running up a hill, it because I was scared.
I was so so scared that she had just died in my arms, that she would leave me. I never ever wanted that. So I looked down at her unconscious form bs speed up my pace. I need to get her help, and I needed it now.
As I burst through the front doors of the estate Alpha Delacroix was walking past with his fourth, directing him on what to do about the attack. When he saw me carting his naked, bleeding daughter, growled and stormed over to me.
"What happened?" He demanded.
"She was in the village when the rebels attacked. I don't know what happened besides that, but she needs medical attention now!" I urged and he spring into action telling me to follow him to the medical wing of the estate.
"It's going to be okay Anna, you'll be okay," I told her getting no response.
When I got to the medical wing I laid her down on one of the beds, reluctant to let her go, but as soon as I did medical staff swarmed her pushing me away. I wanted to stay but I couldn't.
My best friend needed me.
I ran down the hill for the second time today and selfishly couldn't stop myself from thinking.... gee I was gonna be super fit from all this running.
Reaching Ben I sighed in relief that he was still where he had been before and was still in an okay condition.
"Good to see you mate.... took your time," he laughed trying to lighten he mood.
I decided to go with his joking and replied, "Yeah, Anna is pretty heavy for such a small person...."
Ben rolled his eyes and shook his head.
"Oh I got you something to dress the wound and something to cover... well you get what I mean..." I mumbled as I knelt down beside my beta, taking out some sterile bandages and antiseptic cream. I also got him a pair of blue silk boxers, it wasn't much but it'd do.
"How could you? You wish to deny the village the privilege of seeing me and my natural glory"he cried sarcastically.
I smirked, "Mate, I think they're more likely wish for their eyes to be burnt out after seeing you bible up the hill in your birthday suit."
He laughed at that, a real laugh.
"So how'd this happen?" I asked him as I dressed his wounds.
"Well the rogues attacked so I shifted to try and help. I got Anna to shift as well so that she could send a message to the inner circle of her pack for help. However, Brayden came along and I was fighting him. He bit my leg and took me down, and was about to take the kill shot when Anna jumped in to save me. She tried to stop him but he got by the neck and was holding her down and then.... Well then something weird happened, I'm sure I was hallucinating."
My eyes widen when he told me that Anna had saved him. I guess I never expected her to do something as brave as that, it was a reminder about how very little I knew the beautiful blonde after all.
"Come on cripple, lets get you some real help," I teased as I pulled him from the ground and placed his arm over my shoulder so he could lean.
We hobbled up the hill slowly and I couldn't help but notice that he was becoming paler and paler by the second, a cold sweat breaking out in his forehead. Ben was my brother in all ways but blood and if he were to die I didn't know what I would do.
Once I had gotten Ben se real help, and the medical staff reassured me that both he and Anna were going to be okay, I stormed through the halls of the estate and into the Alpha's office, where a meeting was being held about what to do about the attack.
"Our priority is to keep the people safe we need q strategy to prevent this from happening again!" The alpha's fourth cried throwing his hands into the air in frustration.
Great. This was just great, they were arguing already.
"No. What we need to do is...." Another started to say but I stopped them.
"What we need to do is engage the enemy. I am sick and tired of these attacks against the innocent. We need to find the source of these riots and purge them. We need to destroy our opposers for what they have done. We need to take them down."
They looked at me and frowned.
"Do you mean war?" Gray asked cautiously, he had just returned from the battle.
"That is what I mean exactly. They have brought this on themselves," I replied passionately.
"Not everything requires war, boy." He growled at me.
I raised my eyes brow.
"But sometimes all be can do is fight. War here we come."
