Thirty-Two

Anna POV

"What-what do you mean?" I asked Luc, unsure of what he meant.

Luc pulled us up into a sitting position and tucked a piece of my hair behind my ear.

"If I knew a way for us to be together, with no worries of this world and the gate that could tear us apart. If I could take you to a place where your sun would shine and forever be appreciated, where you'd be treated like a queen, would you come with me?" He replied unsure of himself.

I frowned, I did want to stay with Luc, I loved him, but that wasn't possible. How could he take me somewhere that people could see him and where they actually like me? No such place existed, I was sure of that.

"Yes Petal there is a place and I promise I can take you there. All you have to do is believe," Luc smiled. I had forgotten that he could read my mind.

I sighed and looked back up into his eyes. I wanted this. I did, didn't I? My mind was filled with doubt but that didn't stop me nodding along to his sales pitch.

I love Luc and I wanted to make him happy.

And that's what I did by agreeing. Lucs lips turned up into a giant grin as he rolled me on top of him laughing.

"Thanyou! Thankyou so much! I love you Petal, I love soooo much. Now I just have a couple of things to do before we can go," He laughed smashing his lips against mine.

I frowned my doubt doubling, "But I thought you said that all I had to do was believe? I have to something?"

Luc smile died and once again I saw that glimmer of guilt in his eyes and my heart suck further into my stomach.

"Yes I did say that but at the moment the place wouldn't let you in. You haven't proven your belief." He tried to lessen my fears.

"Oh.' I muttered. "What kind of things?"

"Well, at the moment you're too.....umm...."

"Too what?" I asked confused.

"Too good. To get to the place that we can stay together you have to something bad. Really bad."

"But I don't want to anything really bad," I told him confused. If he loved me why would he ask me to betray who I am?

Luc seemed to panic for a moment before regaining his cool, "You love me don't you?"

I nodded slowly.

He smiled, "And you want us to be together forever?"

Once again I nodded.

"So? Can't you do this for me? Just this one thing and then.... well.... then the world will be our oyster and you will be mine forever." Luc begged. He really wanted me to do this.

And I really wanted to make him happy. He was right, love was all about sacrifices and I needed to prove my love to him by doing this for him.

Taking a shaky breath I looked up into sky of grey that was his eyes and whispered.

"What do I need to do?"

"Camilla! Tell me where you were during the first attack!" I yelled at the brunette who was supposed to be my mate.

"I told you, I left to go to the ladies room," She snaked her lips closed in a straight line.

She was lying to me and I was going to get to the bottom of this.
