Anna POV
"Ow! That's my foot!" Cale cried as we shuffled through the darkness.
"Shut it Cale," Gemma growled holding my hand tightly as she tried to navigate the tunnels.
"Buuut Chad stood on my foot...." He whined back.
If it wasn't pitch black I could imagine the aggravated look Gemma just sent him. The look mis have been so powerful that we didn't here a peep from Cale for the next several minutes.
We were currently inside of the tunnels with no light or any sense of direction. Gemma was beginning to get frustrated as we had been walking in circles for over an hour.
My legs were sore.
Stumbling along the path I tried to keep up with the others, as a dense cold filled the tunnels. My teeth began to chatter and we came to a stand still.
Something was wrong. It was the middle of spring.... in Australia.... there was no such thing as cold.Gemma pulled me closer to her as we cautiously continued through the tunnel.
Potent terror rippled through me when I felt a hand grab me that didn't belong to the group I was with.
"Shh. Its me." The voice that belonged to the hand hushed me.
It was Kim.
"Kim?" I asked.
The voice didn't reply instead she pulled me away from Gemma against the wall.
"Anna, you need to be quiet, Chester and Mariah are with the rest of your group and we need to get out of here now," Kim informed me her voice urging.
I did as I was told and let Kim lead me through the darkness quietly. However, we soon came to an abrupt holt and I ran to Kim's back.
"Someone's there," A venomous voice hissed in the tunnel.
The vice sent chills to my bones and I huddled closer to Kim's back.
"Nobody is there Severus, I would be able to smell them if they were," Another voice, equally as terrifying replied.
"I can feel the warm blood around us, Septimus," the first voice, Severus, stated.
"We are surrounded by werewolf mutts, what did you think you would feel?" The other, Septimus, reproached.
Severus and Septimus continued to argue as they walked down the tunnel, away from Kim and I.
I hadn't realized until that moment that I had been holding my breath, so when I was certain the two strangers were no longer within ear shot, I let out that breathe in a big gasp.
"Who was that?" I asked him my voice trembling with fear.
She tugged on my arm pulling me forwards saying, "Come on, I'll explain when we get there."
Kim and I hurried through the tunnel until we reached the welcoming sight of stars. Sighing with relief, I let go of Kim hand and ran out into the now dark landscape of the lake.
It felt so good to finally feel some fresh air.
"I believe you."
I looked up to see Gemma standing infront of me.
"Sorry?"
"I believe you about the tunnels," Gemma smiled kindly, "But that experience just opened a whole other can of worms."
Gemma walked forward past me, "I suppose you're Kim? Brayden's mate right?"
Kim nodded.
Gemma sighed, "Lets go talk about what just happened."
