Jaiden POV

Anna sat on the small wooden platform in her garden. She had her ballet shoes on and she rubbed her ankle furiously.

Heart broken sobs shook her body.

I wanted to comfort her, I really did, but I didn't understand. How could she be sad? We were together, I finally claimed her as my mate and everything was good.

Well, I thought it was good.

Anna's lips trembled as she forcefully took off one of her shoes, throwing it at the rose bush that contained the black rose. The Rose shattered as each delicate petal fell from its stem.

"D-damn you Luck!" she sobbed. "You left me here with them. Surrounded by a world that hates me or doesn't understand. How could you.... how could you?"

I didn't know who this 'Luck' was but the way she cried over them made me want to rip their heart from their chest.

"Anna?" I whispered making my presence known to her.

Her head flicked over to look at me. Her eyes widened as she scooted backwards to get away.

I frowned, why would she want to get away from me?

"W-what are you doing here?" She asked coldly.

"I came to find you," I answered moving towards her.

Anna stumbled to her feet as she pulled her black tutu closer around her trying to cover her legs, "Oh."

I smiled sadly and walked completely over to her, taking a seat at her feet. After a minute or two in silence, she slowly sunk back to he ground next to me.

"You were crying," I stated as I took her small delicate hand. She was like a porcelain doll.

Anna looked down at her hand that was in mine but didn't say anything to me.

I sighed, why was she being difficult all of a sudden.

"I was thinking....." I started but was interrupted by her giggle. "What?"

Anna bit her lip trying to stop the laughter and in that moment she was so enticing that I could have taken her then and there.

"You think? I had absolutely no idea that you think considering your actions recently," She laughed but I didn't miss the bitter undertones in her words.

I gulped, "Well that what I want to talk to you about. I wanted to apologize. I acted like a jerk when you talked about the door. I let my pride get in the way and that has stopped me from taking appropriate measures regarding the secret entrance that you spoke of. But I want you to know that I believe you now."

Anna stared at me, a storm of emotions flickering in her gaze.
She slowly retracted her hand from mine as she stood to her feet.

"You really don't have a clue.... do you?" She muttered as she stomped over to her other shoe, picked it up and left the garden.

Why did people keep saying that?

"Jaiden!" Ben's cries echoes across the landscape.

"Im over here!"

Ben reached me moments later short of breath.

"Jai, you need to come now. It's your sister, she's been hurt," He informed me urgently.

Hurt? How could she be hurt? She was supposed to stay inside the castle walls.

"Where is she?" i growled eager to get to Gemma's side.
