Chapter Six

The group returned to the resort after a fun day of kayaking. Although Emma woke up unwilling to get out of bed, she ended up having a fun day and forgot what had happened to Mason. 

Kai parked his car and everyone left, walking into the resort. As soon as they entered the lobby, the girls were ready to go to their bedroom to take a shower and lie on the bed wrapped in a towel and do nothing for a good thirty minutes but the boys stopped them.

"Wait. What if we all had dinner together? You two owes us that." Kai says with a smirk. The girls look at each other and then at him again. 

"What? Now?"

"Yeah. It's the least you can do after we gave you two a day to remember." He shrugs. Emma giggles.

"All right, we'll have dinner with you." Emma says. Kai turns to Suho to celebrate for convincing them to go to dinner, which made them both laugh.

They left the resort again, following the boys down the street until they stopped in front of a super simple but beautiful restaurant. They sat at an outdoor table. The staff were all nice and helpful. The restaurant was known for its fantastic seafood and being all fresh.

Kai as soon as the waiter approached the table with the menu, ordered a bottle of wine and gave the girls a menu and the other to Suho. After leafing through the menu, everyone had already chosen what they were going to eat. Kai had chosen Thai fried noodles with prawns and egg, Suho red curry with pineapple and prawns and Anneliese with her love for shrimp chose shrimp and vegetables in panang cury. Emma chose a vegetarian dish because she's allergic to seafood.

When the waitress came back to the table to take orders, Emma's phone that was on the table with the screen facing down began to ring. She grabbed the phone, peeking at who she was, sighed deeply. She walked over to the toilets and took the call.

"What do you want?" Emma asks barely answering her call while leaning against the wall.

"Hey, I just wanted to check up on you. How's holidays going? I miss you." Mason says, in a calm tone. Emma shakes her head and turns her eyes.

"Are you serious, Mason? You're really not gonna talk about what you did?" She asks in a rough tone.

"What I did? What are you talking about?" Mason asks confused. 

"I know about you and Bethany." Emma reveals. Mason remains silent for a brief moment.

"How do you- Emma, I wanted to tell you. That was a mistake, I promise to you. It meant nothing to me." He starts. 

"I hope you don't call me again, Mason. It's over." 

"No, please, let's wait until you come back so we can talk it out. We've been together for years, we can't just give up on it." He begs. She feels a tear dripping down her cheek and wipes it away quickly. 

"Yes, and in years you haven't earned a bit of respect for me." 

"I love you, you know that. Please, we'll talk better about this when you come back."  Mason kept desperately asking. Emma takes a deep breath.

"Mason, I'm not stupid. Best wishes to the new couple. I gotta go." 

Emma's voice started to crack, on the verge of crying, she hung up on Mason without giving him a chance to answer. Still leaning against the wall, she starts sobbing while tears fall down her cheek, biting her lip to keep it quiet. She tries to pull herself together to get back to her friends, but the tears kept falling. Suho was on his way to the toilet when he noticed the girl, realizing that she didn't look well, he approached her.

"Are you alright? Did anything happen?" Suho asks as he approaches Emma. The girl looks at him, pulling herself off the wall and wiping her face.

"My boyfriend, I mean, ex-boyfriend called me." Emma replies. 

"Oh... how did it go?" He asks, shaking his head as soon as he realizes the stupid question he did. "Stupid question, you don't look like it went well."

"He was acting like nothing happened." She says, Suho sighs, placing his hand on her shoulder. 

"So he's a total douchebag." Suho starts. "He doesn't deserve you to be here looking all sad, you're on holidays, forget about him. He's not worth of you anyway." He completes it with a little smile on his face. Emma nodded.

"Yeah, I guess you're right."

Suho pulled the girl by the shoulders, wrapped her in a hug, and gave her a kiss on the cheek. She stepped away with a smile and returned to the table, where Anneliese and Kai were alone talking, letting Suho go to the bathroom.

After dinner, the group went to a bar near the restaurant. Idea of Suho, and incredibly Anneliese included. Emma looked at the girl with the frowned brows, admired how Anneliese went along with the idea because she didn't like dancing or drinking.

The boys went to the bar to order drinks for everyone and they followed them. Kai had ordered four shots. Now each with their glass in hand, Suho counts up to three and they all drink at the same time, putting the glass back on the bar. Anneliese closed her eyes feeling the liquid boil down her throat. The rest of them laughed.

Suho grabs Emma by the wrist and pulls her into the middle of people to go dancing, Kai does the same with Anneliese, but the girl pushed back by shaking her head saying she wasn't going. He pouted, but the girl wouldn't give her arm to twist. Then we'll both stay at the bar. Kai ordered some black vodka with Coke and Anneliese malibu, because of the sweet taste.

In the crowd, Suho tried to motivate the girl to dance, but she was still with her arms crossed, shy. He pinches her, and she uncrosses her arms. He stretches out his hand, Emma starts laughing and gives him her hand. He pulls Emma out, making her spin around and grabbing her back.

Anneliese watched her friend and Suho from the bar and smiled, seeing that despite what happened, she still managed to have fun. After several animated songs, they put a slow one on. Kai put his glass back on the bar and looked at Anneliese.

"This song you have to dance with me. Come on, you already rejected me." 

"Promise me you'll stop bothering me if I dance with you." Anneliese chuckles. Kai nods. 

They both walk to the crowd to dance. On the other side of the room, Suho and Emma were still dancing. The girl approached him. Emma wrapped her arms around Suho's neck, and he was reticent to put his hands on the girl's hip. She smiled, took one of her hands to his and places his hand on her hip.
