Chapter Seventeen

The last days of the girls on the island of Koh Samui had gone by. They did everything to enjoy the last few days and they did. The night before they went to dinner with the boys, a 'see you later' dinner as Kai called it. There was a certain tension about Emma and Suho, but they both managed to put it aside and enjoy the last few hours left.

Kai had made himself available to take them to the airport, but Suho was not going. The manager of the beach bar didn't give him the day off, and even though the bar was Kai's he couldn't do much about it. Anneliese and Kai had filled themselves with hugs and little kisses, and he was already looking forward to the time when he was going to put his eyes back on her. While Suho and Emma hugged each other for the last time, she snuggled her head to his chest and this time she didn't tried to stop the tears from falling, not even Suho.

Already dressed, the girls packed the last things in their luggage and locked them up. They took them by the handle and pulled them out of the room and closed the door, they went down to the reception where they saw Kai. He greeted them with two kisses on the face and took their bags to the car while they took care of the last things at the reception. They handed out their key cards, made their payment and walked away from the counter. They sighed as they looked around.

"I'm gonna miss this." Emma says as she turns to Anneliese. Anneliese shrugs.

"Maybe next year we can come back." Anneliese smiles. 

"With Rhea." 

Anneliese shakes her head and laughs. Arm in arm the girls walk out of the resort, seeing Kai leaning against his car talking to Suho. The girls looked confused at each other and approached. Emma frowned. They thought he would be working and could not come. Suho turned around facing them and bit his lip as he looked at Emma. Out of nowhere, Suho grabs the girl by the wrist and pulls her away from Kai and Anneliese. The blonde looked at Kai more and more confused and Kai shrugged.

"I can't leave things like this." Suho starts. "I don't care if I have to work every day if in return I can see you again, feel your touch again... Jeez, Emma. I love you." 

"Wait, what did you say?" 

"I said I love you." He repeats. Emma looks at Suho shocked and looks back at Anneliese and Kai listening carefully and happy, but as soon as they notice Emma they look away.

"That's the first time you ever said that to me..." Emma whispers. "I never thought I'd hear it from you." 

"And I can say as many times as it takes for you to give us a chance." Suho replies.

"You really couldn't make this easie could you? I love you and I want to give us a chance but I can't help but to be scared of getting hurt and hurt you. What if we can't overcome the difficulties?" Emma explains what's stopping her. 

"Don't you think I'm afraid of hurting you too? Or of hurting me? But I'd rather risk it than feel the weight on my conscience of letting you go without even trying..."

Emma pulls him by the shirt, gluing her body to his, Suho's hands go to her waist and squeeze. With both her hands on his neck she presses her lips against his. He kisses back. Breaking the kiss, they hug once more. Anneliese looked at the time and they had to go to the airport. The blonde was getting ready to get into the car when Kai stopped her and kissed her. She bit his lip slightly and they walked away calling Emma. One last kiss is given and she says goodbye to Suho by waving before getting into the car. It was time to return to Denmark.

And after hours of being locked up in airports and planes the girls were back in Denmark. As they left they saw their friend Rhea with Emma's parents waiting for the girls with a smile on their faces eager to hug them. They walked quickly to them and dropping their luggage, Emma hugged her parents and Rhea squeezed Anneliese. Then the blonde greets Emma's parents and Emma hugs Rhea.

They left the airport and went home. They were both tired and couldn't wait for their dates with their beds. Rhea and Anneliese went home, Rhea drove. On the way from the airport to their home Anneliese told all the news to Rhea who, although happy for her friends, felt sad that she didn't go with them. Rhea parks the car and Anneliese gets out of the trunk. Rhea goes to help her friend and starts walking towards the building until Anneliese stops.

"Please tell me Mason's not here with your brother." Anneliese almost begs. The blonde lived with Rhea and the girls shared the house with Rhea's older brother, however he was rarely at home but when he was Mason usually was there too. Rhea sighs.

"Sorry to break it to you but Mason has been around lately." Rhea says. "Fortunately for you, he didn't show up today yet."

"Did he know we were coming back today?" Anneliese asks, Rhea nods.

"Yeah, he did."

"Then he's probably just afraid I'm gonna punch him. Or something." The blonde girl shrugs, Rhea laughs and opens the building door. They both come in and start climbing up to their floor.

"Try not to. He's not worth hurting your hand." 

"I can't promise anything." Anneliese warns.

"Will you be with Mason tomorrow?" Emma's mom asks while she puts the plates on the table. The girl freezes. "Emma?"

"No, Mom, I won't." She replies. "We broke up while I was gone." 

"I don't want to upset you Emma, but I'm happy. You know how I felt about that boy." Says the father who entered the room with the cutlery and napkins in his hand. Emma's mother pinched the man and he groaned. "What? He was a punk!"
