Chapter Forty-Nine

The blonde was back home, she'd already been released from the hospital. Kai had picked her up and taken her home. He forbade her to go to work for a while to get her back and because he was scared. Although the situation with Oliver was already in the police and was being sorted out, they both realized that a bigger bribe and he got rid of it once again. They decided to play it safe for a while, while Kai tried to solve that loose end.  

Anneliese was lying on the couch, wrapped in a blanket while watching series on her laptop and Kai was making lunch for the two of them. He walked back and forth in the kitchen until his phone, which was on the coffee table next to Anneliese, started ringing; the girl noticed and called him. Kai turned down the stove and went into the living room, grabbing his phone. Suho. Kai answered the call, kissed the girl on the forehead and went back to the kitchen. After the quick call, Kai placed his phone on the counter and finished his lunch. He set the table and called Anneliese. The girl put her laptop on the couch with her headphones and got up, heading for the table.

Finishing lunch and taking everything to the kitchen. Kai had already gone to work, and  Anneliese was getting ready to go back to the couch when the bell rang. The girl deviated her way and opened the door, seeing Suho. She was surprised, considering the hours, but greeted him.

"Hey, shouldn't you be working?" Anneliese asks by closing the door and walking behind him to the living room. Suho arches his brows. 

"Do you still know my shifts? It's been a while." He asks sitting on the individual sofa, Anneliese sits on the front sofa, closing the laptop as she shrugs.

"It wasn't that hard to memorize."

"Good point." He says. "But today I exchanged shifts with a colleague, I'm not missing work."

"What brings you here then?" Anneliese ask as she crosses her legs.

"First checking up on how you doing, and how's my nephew?" Suho starts. "And also because I want an advice. I wanted to speak with you before talking with Emma because I don't want to mess up and since you've known her longer..."

"I'm fine, thanks. And he's fine, too." She smiles. "And what's up?"

"I want to purpose to Emma." Suho spit it out. Anneliese looks at him surprised.

"Are you serious?"

"Is it a bad idea?" Suho gets confused, and asks scared that maybe it was too soon. Anneliese shakes her head.

"No, no. I just wasn't expecting it." Anneliese replies. He chuckles. 

"If you weren't expecting it, I think Emma doesn't even dream about it." He comments by making the blonde laugh, she leans against the couch. "So what do you think about it? Should I?"

"I think it's adorable. Yes, you should." Anneliese encourages Suho. "If she says yes – which she will – schedule the wedding after your nephew's birth because I want a nice dress." She warns.

"We'll try." He chuckles. "But before, I'm going to need help with something." Anneliese arches her brow.

"What is it?" 

"I need help with the ring." He says. Anneliese claps her hands and smiles.

"Say no more, I help you." 

Anneliese had been super excited about Suho thinking about proposing to Emma, but she was even more excited because she could help choose the ring. Besides watching the series, Anneliese would have fun seeing so many rings, and seeing dresses to put Emma in when the time came. Suho had left the blonde's house and made his way to the car dealership.
