Chapter Thirty-Nine

Anneliese and Kai's call ended. The girl kept Suho's cell phone in her back pocket and grabbed a box up the stairs to her new apartment. She walked in finding Suho, Emma and Rhea sitting on the couch talking. She looked more cheerful, which immediately made it understand that she had settled with Kai and everything was already fine. She put the box down and returned the phone to Suho, he got up and put it in his pants pocket.

She started clapping for the girls to get up and get back to work, there were still some boxes missing. The girls got up and the four of them went down again to get what was missing. Before going up, Anneliese and Rhea locked their cars and went up the stairs behind Emma and Suho.

They started to open some boxes and start packing. The clothes and other personal things were taken care of by Anneliese. Rhea took care of the things they had bought for the kitchen and bathroom and Emma and Suho decorated the room with the things that Anneliese gave them.

A good three hours later it was all done. They put all the boxes together at the door so they could throw them in the trash later and went to sit on the couch. Anneliese was more than satisfied with the new apartment and with the fact that she was able to take it all with her friends.

With everyone getting hungry and as Anneliese hadn't gone shopping yet, Rhea took her phone out of her pocket to order food. The four of them began to discuss what they were going to order, but they all ended up getting what they wanted; Emma and Suho had ordered Chinese food, Rhea and Anneliese ordered a pizza for the two of them.

The food hadn't taken long to arrive, Rhea had gone to the door to answer, hoping it was the pizza, but it was Suho and Emma's Chinese food. The girl sat sadly on the couch and about five minutes later the bell rang again, she got up quickly from the couch and went to the door. She opened the door with a smile and grabbed the pizza box and paid the boy. She closed the door and went back to the room with happy jumps, which made the three of them laugh.

She put the pizza box on the small glass table next to Emma and Suho's Chinese food, they had waited for the girls to get their food so they could start eating. The four of them sat down on the floor; Rhea opened the box and grabbed napkins passing one to Anneliese and took a slice. Suho grabbed his Chinese food box and took the Chinese sticks; Emma was eating with a fork as she could not use the sticks. A big baby like Anneliese said which made Suho laugh.

It was getting late so Suho and Emma left. They said goodbye to the girls as Rhea was still keeping Anneliese company. Suho was leaving in two days and most of his clothes were all over his hotel room. He preferred to tidy up his clothes and pack a few days earlier and enjoy the rest of Emma's time. The two of them went quietly to the hotel, Emma offered to help him and would most likely spend the night there again. 

When they arrived at the hotel, the couple climbed up to the room in the elevator and entered the room. Suho put his bag on the bed and started to pick up his clothes that were scattered around the bathroom and even on the bedroom floor. He put his clothes on the bed and Emma started to take some pieces and fold them and consequently put them inside the bag.

 Suho had his back to Emma, leaning against the mobile that had a small card with the hotel's internet password and some decorations, he was charging his phone while confirming that he had his ticket, passport and other important things that he might need. Emma sighed deeply and got out of bed, she hugged him from behind and pressed her head against his back. He chuckled. 

"Don't go back to Koh Samui." She finally speaks after being quiet all that time. She stepped aside, letting Suho turn around to her. "I mean it." 

"I wish things were so simple." Suho says, sighing. "It's hard for me to leave you but you know my job is there even if my heart stays here with you."

"But it can be that simple."  

"How? If I come here I don't have a place to stay, I don't have a job..." Emma sees Suho sitting on the edge of his bed. Emma rubs her arm. 

"I know I sound selfish, but you do have a place to stay and a job is something we can find..."

"I can't commit to come here without a certain I'll have a job, even if that's my wish." He replies. "I can't be without income. How am I going to pay my bills?"

"Yeah, you're right..." Emma sighs. Suho stretches out his arm grabbing Emma's and pulls her.

"We'll find a way, Emma." He says as he caresses the girl's cheek. "I promise, we will."

Rhea had already left, she was tired, especially when she had been dragged out of bed so early by the blonde. Anneliese added the pizza box to the boxes they had used to pack her stuff, swearing to herself that in the morning she would take it all to the trash. She went to bed and felt like she'd laid down in the most comfortable place on the planet. She covered herself with the blanket and grabbed her phone. She saw what time it was in Copenhagen and did the math to see how many hours it was in Koh Samui. It was late, but she tried anyway. This time she decided to call by FaceTime.

"That's a new one. Do you miss my face that much?" Kai asks. He had his hair all messed up and rubbed his face. 

"I miss your resort the most." Anneliese replies, shrugging. 

"Right." He chuckles. "Especially this pillow and wall which is the only thing you can see." 

"I might missed your face a tiny bit." Anneliese says by making a gesture with her hand. Kai shakes his head. 

"I missed you face a tiny bit as well." He replies. "It's kind of late, you know? But I'm actually glad you called. I need to tell you something." 

"Oh no, what happened this time?" The blonde asks worried. 

"Nothing happened. I've been thinking about what we talked about this afternoon." Kai says. The girl's shoulders relaxed.

"Oh. What did you think about?"

"I'm gonna talk to my dad, I'm gonna stay here another month and then I'm going to Denmark." Kai reveals. "Get a place to live and a job."

"Do you really want to go through with this?" Anneliese asks. Kai nods. "I don't want you to have any issues with your family, Kai."

"Yes, I do." He replies. "I won't have any problems with my family, don't worry about it."

"Then you won't need to search for a place to stay." She says it makes him confused.

"What do you mean?"

"I was meant to tell you yesterday but with the whole thing that happened, I totally forgot. I found a place for myself, the girls and Suho helped me move today." Kai was surprised.

"Really? I'm happy for you, babe." He says with a smile. "But are you saying you're willing to deal with me every day?"

"You're right it might be too much..." Anneliese looks thoughtful and starts laughing. "But I'm up for a challenge if you're willing to have me sleeping with my head on top of your arm every day." 

"It will be a pleasure."
