Adventures with a BOOM (Re-writen)

Chapter 1

Spring, to some it is one of the better times of the year. With the warm weather slowly returning, to the flowers starting to bloom and a clear blue sky.
This day, was no different. The sun stood high in the sky, with no clouds in the sky to block its warm glow. The leaves on the trees had bloomed, making the trees look more alive. And some flowers had even started to bloom, creating colorful patches in the green grass for everyone to enjoy.
So, that meant almost everyone had gone outside to enjoy the warm weather and the beauty that came with spring. Everyone, but a black hedgehog with red stripes.
Said hedgehog was currently stuck in the lower levels of G.U.N HQ, staring at the large machine in front of him.

"Are you sure that this will work?" The ebony hedgehog soon forced himself to ask, while his crimson red eyes was focused on the machine.

"That's what we're going to find out. Are you ready, Agent Shadow?" The moment Shadow heard that, he rolled his eyes.
He couldn't help but think that this was a terrible idea.

"Yes, just don't blame this on me if something goes wrong" Shadow looked up at the human, who was standing right next to him.

"I wasn't going to. Now, we hope that this Time-machine works. Worst case scenario is that nothing happens, other than a few burn marks. But you can handle that right?"

"That's it? You don't have another crazy theory for this thing?" Shadow couldn't help but stare at the human. Shadow wasn't too sure that she was telling him the truth.

"Well, to be honest. I have no idea. I'm no expert on Chaos Control, or how it works. However, the Commander did order me to look into the possibility of time travel. No idea why he would want that but, I can't refuse an order now can I?"

"Hmph, fair point"

"We're all set!" When Shadow heard that, he watched as one of the other human Agents in the room walked over to the machine and opened it.
The machine itself, wasn't anything too impressive. It looked more like a giant capsule than anything else. The only thing that stood out was the small looking pod on the side that contained 2 Chaos Emeralds. The small pod was connected to the machine by large tubes that was supposed to extract the Chaos Energy and force a Chaos Control to be confined in the machine. Sending just the person in the machine forward or backwards in time.

"Great! You remember what to do, Shadow?"

"Yes. As soon as the machine has sent me away, I'm going to find out what year it is. Then find two Chaos Emeralds and send myself back"

"Good. Just step inside the machine whenever you're ready"

When Shadow heard that, he walked up to the machine and stepped inside. The moment Shadow was inside, he heard the door let out a hiss as it closed behind him.
The ebony hedgehog let out a sigh as he turned around, he did not like the idea of being inside this machine but he knew he didn't have a choice.

"So far so good! Chaos Control will happen in 3.."

"..2..."

"..1! Wait, what's happening?! Shut it off!"

"I-I can't! It's overloading!"

"Oh no... Break the doors down! Get Shadow out of there!"

"I can't! What part of that don-" That was the last thing Shadow could hear before a white light surrounded him.
When it disappeared, Shadow felt how his back hit the ground. Somehow, he had managed to end up in the air and gravity had decided to send him down with his back first.

"This can't be good... They sounded way to paniced over a-" Before Shadow could try and figure out just what had gone wrong, the sound of a plane engine brought him out of his train of thought.

"AAAH!" Quickly followed by the sound of someone screaming. The moment Shadow heard that, he quickly got up from the ground.

Shadow quickly looked up in the sky, only to notice a blue plane. The blue plane had smoke coming out of it, a sign that something bad had happened to it.
Before Shadow could do anything, he heard the plane crash into the ground not far from where he was standing. It was quickly followed by a blue blur, which Shadow knew could only belong to one hedgehog.

"Sonic? Oh shit... This can't be good" Shadow thought to himself as he followed Sonic, he had no idea where he was or when but Shadow knew he had to find out. The sooner, the better.

Shadow watched from a safe distance, as Sonic lifted up a wounded Tails from the ground. The young fox didn't look much older than normal, which only added to Shadow's confusion.
The ebony hedgehog continued to follow Sonic, the blue hedgehog in question had no idea he was being followed. The only thing on Sonic's mind was to get Tails back to his house, where Tails would be safe and so he could look over the young fox. Just to make sure that Tails wasn't badly injured.
Soon enough, Shadow came to a stop. His crimson red eyes were focused on the small village up ahead. Now he was really worried, if the machine had sent him to a different Universe. Then he needed to get back home, the sooner the better.
The ebony hedgehog knew just what would happen if he stayed in a different Universe for too long, it would be even worse if there was a different version of himself here.
Then he really didn't have much time.

"Oh, hello. You look lost, can I help you?" The moment Shadow heard that, he looked slightly to the left. Only to notice Amy.
She looked different. That much was clear.

Instead of a red dress, she was now wearing a red one-piece top with a white collar. With yellow buttons on her left side and a lavender sarashi around her waist. She was also wearing white gloves, purple sports tape and golden ring bracelets around her wrists. Purple stockings and red-violet shoes with pink soles and toes, grey straps and pink plate with two yellow buttons on top.
The only thing that she was still wearing, that was familiar to Shadow was her red headband.

"No, I'm... I'm fine" Shadow tried not to snap at the pink hedgehog, she hadn't done anything wrong yet.

"Are you sure? You look a little pale.." At that, Amy walked a bit closer. It was only then Shadow noticed that Amy was a bit thinner but also taller. She wasn't that much taller, but she was still slightly taller than Shadow.
Making Shadow feel even more out of place.

"I'm sure.." Shadow started as he took a few steps back, he didn't want Amy to get too close. "I just need to.." And with that, Shadow took off running.
Shadow wasn't one to run away from his problems, far from it. But the situation he was in, was weird. And so, he needed a quiet place to think. He didn't want anyone to disturb him, so he had decided to find a more secluded spot.
And the best he could find was the nearby forest. It wasn't anything special, but it did make Shadow feel a bit more at home. Being one of the best field Agents for G.U.N. Shadow often found himself camping out in the forest.

"Okay, okay. Think. Something went wrong with the machine, and now I'm stuck here? Where ever here is..." Shadow thought as he walked over to a small cave, it was really small. It was just enough space for him and nothing more. Once he was inside, he leaned his back against the cave wall and crossed his arms over his chest.

"Maybe, the machine somehow couldn't handle the Chaos Energy from the Emeralds mixed with my own? That would explain why it was overloaded, but not how I got here... Or maybe it does?" Shadow was so caught up in his own thoughts, that he let his guard down. Long enough for a figure to sneak up on him and knock him out cold.   

A/N: So, chapter 1 has now been re-writen. And yes, I did change it up a bit. 
But I had to change it up a bit, it was just weird for me when I tried to keep it just like the old one. 

So, as a heads up. The other chapters won't be the same as the original one. It might have some similarites but that's it. 

However, the plot will still be the same. I just had to change up the chapters to make it work. 
And yes, Boom!Shadow will come.

But in later chapters. After all, it took them 52 episodes to add Shadow in the Sonic boom cartoon. So, it makes sense to me to keep Boom!Shadow out of this story, at least for now. 

If that upsets you, then I'm sorry. But I feel that I have to.

Don't worry though! I'm going to try to make sense, as to why Boom!Shadow doesn't make himself known in this story.
