"I'm in love with you!"

The voice echoed off the hallway as you felt your heart in your throat.

After years of denying your feelings and affections for your best friend since childhood, years of waiting for him to be a better version of himself, you had finally let free and you came crashing down.

You had rejected your feelings for him because of his actions towards Midoriya. They were senseless and cruel, and more importantly Midoriya was your friend too. So you had decided to remain strong friends with Midoriya because you couldn't go along with the bullying to something that wasn't his fault, but you couldn't also resist remaining Bakugou's friend as well.

Bakugou froze a few strides ahead of you, his hands shoved into his pockets and his back stiffed. It scared you because you knew that whether he returned your feelings or not this would have been the initial reaction.

"The hell did you say to me?"

Your fists relaxed as your hands raised to your chest in a defensive manner, "I'm... I'm in love with you."

The silence in the air was thick as he stared at you before a bitter and angry snarl pulled on his upper lip as his eyes turned dangerous.

"Shut the fuck up."

That was not a reaction that you were expecting in either a good or a bad way.

"Um?"

"Are you fucking serious?" Bakugou all but hisses as he takes a step forward, anger and annoyance heavy in his posture and face as he laughs with no humor. "Tell me you're fucking joking."

"I'm not..."

His face is void of expression as he sucks in air into his mouth as he turns his head away, his body tense and angry. You felt insanely uncomfortable as Bakugou remained in front of you, silent and cold as his hands run through his hair before he finally returned his attention back towards you.

"I had been in love with you for my entire fucking life and now you fucking decide to love me back?! Right when I finally fucking gave up?!"

Your eyebrows furrow as your jaw drops in both confusion and the slightest bit of hurt as he rolls his eyes. But you didn't need this response from him! Not even the smallest bit.

"H-How is that my fault?! I never once thought you were interested in me! How the hell was I supposed to know that you liked me when you treat me like everyone else I know?!"

"Because you couldn't tell that I was in love with you because you were too busy loving someone else to notice me."

Your eyes flash as Bakugou's bores into yours and you scoff as you shake your head.

"For someone as fucking observant as you are, you really are fucking blind."

"Y/n–"

"No, go fuck yourself. Forget my confession while you're at it too."
