a/n: because its my brother in laws bday today, imma write this a dabi piece

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" You shout as Dabi enters your room with a hand rubbing the back of his neck. Quirking your eyebrow, you tilted your head at the exhaustion that loomed heavily in his features. "You okay, burned chicken nugget?"

His eyes flashed in annoyance as he exhaled heavily through his mouth, "I haven't been back for more than one minute and you're already running that mouth."

Ignoring the irritation in his tone, you walked over to him, your arms resting onto his shoulders as your fingers pressed against the pressure point in his neck. A groan of approval passed his lips and you chuckled as he visibly relaxed.

"What? Does that feel good?" You ask as he rotates his head to lessen the physical stress of the day.

"No."

"Mhmm," you disagree as he pulls you in closer, "now you gonna 'fess up?"

"To what?"

"What's wrong."

A low hum vibrated in his throat as he contemplated whether to tell you, but you remained silent, instead trying to find the knots in his back and worked them out. He didn't smell like he had been in a fight, every time he used his quirk he always came back smelling of burning flesh after all.

"I saw them today," he mumbled into your skin. It didn't take a genius to figure out who he had seen, so you squeeze him tight as he shifts in your arms. "It's weird seeing them in public. I mean, they didn't see me, but... fuck... I don't even fucking know."

"Well, Dabi," you whisper, emphasizing his true name and not his birth name, "I think they'd be happy to see you alive."

Dabi snorted in a way of disagreement.

"It's true! They love you, and we all do bad things! Just because you're part of our raggedy group of nerds that are... well villains, we aren't bad people. You're not a bad person, and they're your siblings, I'm sure they would understand."

"You always know what to say, huh?"

"It's part of the charm!"
