amajiki tamaki x fem!readerwarnings: fluff
a/n: this ended up being long enough to be considered a scenario LOL
Tamaki was a nervous wreck.
It was apart of his identity, and no one questioned him ever for that.
He was also a Pro-Hero now, with the ability to stare down the most heinous of villains and be able to defeat them.
But still, as soon as he stepped out of that costume, he was no different in character than he was years ago.
Shy, stuttering, nervous.
But today was Mirio's wedding. His best friend was getting married, and not only was Tamaki asked to give a speech at the reception, but he was not going dateless. You were a good friend of Mirio and Tamaki from all the way from grade school. The three of you disconnecting when they went off to U.A., but by chance had met again when Tamaki rescued you from a petty criminal!
That one encounter had you suddenly thrust back into their lives and there was nothing that could stop Tamaki from eventually having a full-blown crush on you. You were just perfect in his eyes, maybe a bit too perfect other times. But with Mirio's wedding drawing near, you needed a date, and so did Tamaki. You had actually asked Tamaki if you could accompany him as his date. You wouldn't know the mass majority of the people at the wedding, as most were hero colleagues of Mirio and his soon to be wife! So, of course, you asked Tamaki.
It, however, didn't keep Tamaki from getting nervous as you texted him you were ready to go whenever he would go pick you up. His hands clutched his wedding speech in one hand and his written declaration of his feelings for you in his other, and he turned. He was ready for this day of love and union to end with love for himself as well.
The second you walked out of your front door, Tamaki immediately wanted to drive away.
You were just so pretty in your summer dress that he didn't know how to react except by running away. You stepped into the car and noticed that Tamaki's fingers were gripping the steering wheel and his eyes focused straight ahead. "Good afternoon, Tamaki!" You chirp, figuring that he was already panicking about his speech for Mirio.
"A-Afternoon..."
You smiled as Tamaki went to put the car into drive again, but it seemed he couldn't remember where to set the shift.
"The D, sweetie," You whisper to Tamaki, trying to help him out with his thought process, but his face turns scarlet red. "No, Tamaki! I didn't mean it like that!" You shriek, suddenly feeling embarrassed too as all you can is get slammed into the car seat as Tamaki takes down the 15 km road at 75 km.
Both of you listen to blaring music as Tamaki's scarlet cheeks continue shining all the way until you get to the venue and reception.
You get out of the car and try meeting Tamaki's gaze which is entirely everywhere else but on you. "Tamaki, that was my fault!" You say finally getting the handsome man to look at you. "Besides, I would take you out for dinner before!" You can't help but tease as an embarrassed squeak escapes his lips.
The laugh that leaves your lips, however, makes Tamaki's embarrassment worth it.
~~~
Tamaki is not ashamed to admit that he cried during Mirio's and his new wife's vows. They were so soulful, moving, and sincere that the tears continuously flowed out of his eyes as well as his blond best friends. Tamaki looked over at you and smiled seeing you cheering and wiping away your own tears as Mirio held his wife bridal style and was now running away. His laughter echoing in the wind.
Tamaki noticed you now shuffling out of the makeshift aisle and was now headed in his direction. He waved pathetically at you as you came up to him, "I never would have guessed Mirio of all people was a poet with his words!" You exclaim as you wipe a tear away.
"It's a-apart of the Pro-Hero gig," Tamaki says with a smile, he cheers inwardly at his ability to play alongside you. "We have to move people's souls. It's apart of the job."
"Mm, our everyday Naruto?" You ask winking at Tamaki who groans softly as he shakes his head.
"Okay, but now I really want to eat, and dance! You're doing both with me right?" You ask as you slip a warm hand into his slightly sweaty ones. "We can totally get you something funky to eat so you can trip people while we dance!"
"Y-Y/n... that's not a good use of m-my quirk!" Tamaki stammers as you pull him towards the venue.
"Then I guess you'll just have to be a bad boy!" You wink you continue dragging him away.
To say the least, Tamaki actually had a really great time at the wedding. You were entertaining to other people and kept lively conversations with people you interacted with, and a plus being they assumed the two of you were together. It simultaneously embarrassed and made Tamaki swell with pride.
The dancing was also very fun after the Togata's first dance everyone joined in on the dance floor, and your dorky dance moves made Tamaki forget that people were watching. He especially loved having you within his arms when the two of you swayed together for a slow dance.
He was enjoying the night so much that he forgot that he was doing a speech, a speech that he was now doing.
Tamaki breathed stiffly into the microphone, his eyes darting everywhere. Trying to find your face in the crowd as he attempted to calm down. Not even Mirio's comforting back slaps were doing anything!
"Hi, I'm, um, I'm the best man... Amajiki Tamaki..." Tamaki mumbles out, his line of sight now on the ground as he slips his hand into his pocket and pulls out a piece of paper and goes to read it as fast as he can. "Y/l/n y/n, I couldn't tell you without failing miserably but, I needed to say that I'm in love with–oh my god..."
Tamaki now wants to die.
There were gasps among the audience and a boisterous laugh from Mirio. Something he did to get attention off Tamaki whenever something like this happened. But this time, for the first time, the laughter didn't keep him out of the spotlight.
It was then that Tamaki can see your face in the crowd, and all he can see is your jaw hanging as you stare at him. Tamaki wants to cry as he then reads off his real speech, but he feels hollow, empty.
Finishing the speech, which was meet with a nice applaud, Tamaki races off the stage. His head low.
He was going home, you could find a way back to your place! Tamaki knew that you were capable of doing just that with ease, but a hand clutches his jacket sleeve before he can disappear.
"Tamaki!" You gasp as Tamaki now stills, he's unable to move now, but he can't even begin to look at you. "You're in love with me?"
Your voice is quiet, soft, and almost afraid.
Tamaki, although wishing he didn't have to, nods his head quickly. "Y-Yes."
"I love you, too." You laugh in mirth as he slowly moves his head to look at you."I've been in love with you since primary school, in fact!"
The world is now spinning, and Takami is facing you, "Please don't say sike..." Tamaki says under his breath, and he begins repeating that phrase like a prayer.
Your lips come and gently press against his own, "I could never say sike..." You whisper and Tamaki lets out a choked sob as he buries his head into your neck.
Today was Mirio's wedding, but it wasn't the only beginning of a chapter there tonight.
