a/n: i really love vulnerable bakugou. honestly his origin story is what made me see bakugou in a new light even though i know most people didn't think it was that memorable.... anyways enjoy!!!

Bakugou was silent.

He was simply doing everything that everyone asked him to, and it was scary.

You're eyes trained on him as the police escorted him away. Your hands folded onto the dress that you had bought for the rescue mission you had embarked on with some of your classmates to get your boyfriend back to safety.

You figured that it was just the shock of being back.

It had been days since he was taken, and as far as you knew, he was fighting them the entire time. Your boyfriend may be an ass at times, but he was no villain. But you also don't see Bakugou again after he's taken until you move into your dorms.

And while Bakugou seems like he hasn't changed there's something different in the way he drags Kaminari away to get him to overstimulate his quirk. While you don't say anything to your laughing classmates, you know you have to talk to him, and soon.

"Hey, y/l/n-chan, do you want to come down with us? I think everyone's in the common space!" Mina chirps as she enters your room, her arms stretched up above her head.

You were placing the last of your personal things in place as you nod your head, "Yeah! I'm going to go talk with Bakugou first though, I haven't spoken to him since he got home." You explain as you step out towards the door. Mina following after you.

"Sounds good! Also super cute room!!"

"Haha, thanks!"

You found yourself walking down to Bakugou's room. Your hand moving to open the door without knocking.

Bakugou sits in the middle of the floor, his hands shuffling through the birthday gift you had given to him. It was a collection of your favorite pictures of the two of you, something that Bakugou cherished with his whole heart.

"You okay, 'suki?" You ask as you close the door behind you. He had obviously not heard you enter as he snaps his head up and stares at you, his face screwed up.

Was he–?

"Knock next time, shitty woman." Bakugou sniffs as he wipes a tear away angrily, and you watch as he tries to hide the photo album. You sigh at your emotionally guarded boyfriend and walk over sinking onto the ground next to him. Your fingers grasping his neck gently and pulling him into your body.

"I've seen you naked before," You tease, "I don't need to knock anymore."

Bakugou snorts as he relaxes against your hold, and eventually, he pulls you into his lap, his nose buried into the crook of your neck.

"Do you want to talk about what's bothering you, love?" You whisper to Bakugou as your fingers massage his scalp gently. You can feel his eyelashes flutter against your skin. He liked this.

"I wasn't scared the entire time I was there," Bakugou says and you nod your head. It wasn't something you didn't expect. Bakugou had a good head on his shoulders and if they wanted Bakugou you were sure that he wouldn't show up dead, which meant Bakugou should know that as well. "But when I saw you there rescuing me... with all those fucking villains there... I was scared. I thought maybe I wasn't going to be able to get away safely with all your guys still being okay."

You nod your head softly, pressing a kiss onto his temple. But you thought it wasn't all of it. "What else?" You prod on, hopeful he would tell you.

Bakugou shakes his head quickly and you know he isn't ready to tell you just yet, but that's okay. You were glad he was able to tell you all of this without needing to fight you first. "Should we sleep then?" You ask and a smile overcomes you as he nods his head.

"Okay, baby, let's go sleep."

"T-Thank you." Bakugou stutters and you get off his lap and grab his hands, ready to hold him tightly until he felt at ease again.
