"I died when (she/he) did."

a/n: im... oddly really proud of this one.... it made me a bit sad so maybe you will be too!

Mirio always thought he was going to save millions.

Awhile ago he sacrificed a lifetime of saving a million for the sake of one. He didn't regret that choice to this day.

And one day it happened.

He wasn't wrong!

He saved a million. Maybe millions more.

At the cost of one.

The one that meant the world to him. The one that mattered most to him when he closed his eyes at night. The one that eased his nerves when he wanted to collapse. The one who raised his hopes and dreams, the million seemingly possible when you encouraged him. The one he loves–loved–more than anything else in this world.

The one that he had as first on the people to save.

He couldn't save you.

He watched you die in his arms, the pain that shot through him at the moment was indescribable.

Mirio didn't smile anymore. He didn't sleep much, either. His foods were always the same, a plain bagel. Tamaki carried the conversation. Neijire was at a lost for words whenever she was around him. Deku had stopped trying to cheer him up.

Everything was just so wrong, he didn't know what was right anymore.

Mirio stares at your side of the bed. Your clothes still on the floor from the last morning you had. You laughter echoing in the halls as he kissed you goodbye, only to come back seconds later to kiss you again, and again, and again.

But as he had to choose between you or the world, you gladly made the decision for him.

"You're going to be the best Hero the world is going to see..." You whisper as you clutched his bleeding face in his hands. "It's my turn to be the hero! I'm going to save you, as long as you promise to be among the million you save. Please save yourself, Mirio-kun..."

He could do nothing, as the energy surrounding your body, and with a blinding light, you collapsed, dead.

It still made him throw up at the thought of it.

So as Mirio leans against the toilet as the sick bile escapes his throat, he sobs.

He can feel Tamaki, Neijire, and Deku's hands comforting him. They won't leave him alone anymore.

"C-Come on, Mirio-kun..." Deku's voice pleads almost desperately, "You have to live for her..."

"I can't..." Mirio gasps between broken sobs. "She was the reason why I was alive... can't you see it? I died when she did."

Even though Mirio can tell you're watching on upset and heartbroken for him, he doesn't feel a bit ashamed. You were his everything, and now you were gone.
