As of now, David is 6 weeks into his recovery. He mastered moving with crutches and thanks to the upper and lower body workouts he learned since he was young, David could just barely walk on his legs, but anytime he doesn't walk with crutches, he uses the wall or support beams attached to the hospital walls. Walking regularly still exhausts energy out of David, but not as much as the animals who would be recovering the same way as David. One day, David rested himself to see how many flights of stairs he could climb up before his legs buckled and cause him to fall over. The hospital had 8 floors, David only made it up to the 6th floor before falling and catching himself on a wall. When he did rest, he thought of his memories, some he eventually remembered, but then there were some that were a lot more harder to remember. David did remember he had two parents that were killed, but one of the most difficult memories he has would have to be of Legosi, Louis, and Haru. He knew they were among the closest people to him, but he didn't know why they had to be harder to remember. Eventually, staff members would find David at the stairs and get him back to bed, but David didn't mind, he would simply attempt the stairs again the next day. On the first Saturday of April, Henry decided to visit David, who was in bed reading a book at the time. Henry sat on a chair next to David, he had a bag in his hand, and said cheerfully
"Good Morning, David! How did you sleep?" David looks over at Henry with a smile and closes his book
"I slept good, already using your monthly vacation day?" Henry chuckles a bit before saying
"It's funny that you mention that, but no, I'm on my lunch break. I have about 20 minutes until I need to head back." David looks down and sees the bag Henry is holding, he asks
"What's that you have in your bag?" Henry looks down at the bag and holds it up as he said
"This?" Henry takes a book out of the sack "It's just something new I thought you would enjoy!" Henry hands the book over to David and the title read 'Animal Eternal'. David's smile grows as he appreciates the gift. Henry continues "It's about a male goat named Brandt who help builds a town, but that town actually has a demonic presence and Brandt is the only one who can stop the demons." David looked excited as Henry explained the summary, he said
"Thank you, Henry! I'll be sure to read it today!" David rests the book on his lap and asks Henry "So, was the book all you wanted to come by for?" Henry rubbed his head and looked away as he grew unsure and that made David curious. Henry then looked back at David and spoke in a serious tone
"David, throughout these six weeks you've been recovering, I've been trying to figure out how I was going to tell you this." David gets more concerned than curious as Henry continues to talk "Heck, I've been wanting to tell you this before you were put in the coma, but... I was afraid I was just going to be giving away a secret to an object. Before I admit to you, you are aware you're technically my adopted child?" David speaks up out of curiosity
"Yes, but, Henry, where are you going with this?" Henry takes a deep breath and then says
"I used to be a father." David was surprised and he asked
"Like, you had a real child?" Henry nods and then says
"I never thought to tell you before because I was worried you would only get involved in the life I used to live in, before I was hired by the government." David suddenly became interested as he said
"What have you done before?" Henry's gaze drifts away from David for a moment before looking back at him to say
"My full story is a complicated one. Before the government, I was still a doctor, but not a regular doctor. I was a doctor that performed miracles... for criminals. I had an office that would reside in the dark market. The dark market is a place that real meat from real animals was sold, practically only carnivores or... cannibalistic herbivores would go there. At the time, I was a single father struggling to pay rent, due to the fact that I was fired for taking... adrenaline while on the job. I am clean from it now, but I could hardly find work. Just as I was walking back Home after a job interview, I saw a Lion in a suit and tie laying in the road. I hurried over to him and I was surprised. The lion had several bullets lodged in his chest, almost fatal, but if I hadn't been near home, there wouldn't have been anything I could do. I took the lion home and removed the bullets out of him, after that, he offered me a job. I never knew that the lion was part of a yakuza group known as the Shishigumi. I was hesitant, but when I was offered money, I had to take the offer. I was even given my own medical room at the dark markets, I was treated fairly, until one day the work only got harder and the amount of wounds and patients increased week after week, some patients weren't even part of the Shishigumi. I wanted to quit, but then instead of being offered money to keep working, they threatened to eat me and my son, despite him being almost a fully grown child. One day, I snapped and made a huge mistake by letting one of the Shishigumi lions die on purpose. I knew that I had to do something. I went home to get my son and packed up everything he and I needed, but then..." Henry pauses for a moment as he remembers the frightened face his son was making and then David said
