Chapter 10 - Under Pressure

"Yeah, what?" Bill said "Why does he get to be Adler? I'm more qualified for it! I have Adler's moves down!" Louis glared at Bill for him yelling and said

"David is more than capable. Not only that, this is a perfect chance for him to prove himself he belongs in the acting team." Bill had a look of disbelief and thinks to himself

"He's really just going to leave this to chance? On the new member, no less!" Bill then grunts and crosses his arms because of jealousy. David looks back at Louis with a concerned look

"Do you really think I can do it, Louis?" Louis gives his attention to David and looks at him with confident eyes

"I would be disappointed if you couldn't, but I trust that you will do fine. Do you remember the lines?" David has a confident smile

"Of course! The script was like reading a regular book, except it's the only thing I read for the past 3 weeks." Louis raised an eyebrow in interest

"3 weeks?" David nods his head

"I really didn't want to mess something up and wanted to make sure no one else did." Louis fixes his gaze over to Sanu and waited for his approval. Sanu said

"Well, if you're sure in putting David as Adler, I don't see why the show can't go on." Louis held a light smile

"Then it's official, David will be tomorrow's Adler." Louis thought for a moment as he said "As for David's old role, we need someone to be the final henchman." After Louis said that, the crew all looked at Legosi. Just when Legosi sees that everyone is looking at him, he holds his hands up as he gets nervous and says

"Wait, hold on, what?!"

[Time skip to tomorrow rehearsal]

David is holding a kendo stick over his shoulder as Legosi holds his nervously and looking down. David smiles and pats Legosi on the back

"Come on, Legosi! It's not that bad! You aren't even scripted to hit me!" Legosi sighs and looks at David

"It's not that. This is the first time I ever had to be an actor." David tilts his head as he never would've thought Legosi never acted "Plus, my reflexes are pretty slow, despite being a wolf." David puts his hand on his chin and takes a step away from Legosi to think, but then, suddenly, David spun around with the kendo stick to hit Legosi, but the hit was blocked and David smiles

"Pretty slow, eh? Heheh!" David puts his stick back on his shoulder and Legosi feels less tense "You have the advantages. When we have our scene, I want you to have fun with it!" David closes his eyes as he shows his big smile. Seeing how enthusiastic David is, it made Legosi feel a little more confident in himself. Meanwhile, Bill watches and feels petty jealousy from the other side of the room as he leans on a wall, but then his concentration is broken once Aoba talks to him

"Hey, Bill. You ok?" Bill looked over at Aoba and then back to David as he replied

"I'm fine, I just really wanted to be Adler. Like, for once, I don't want to be some crappy side character." Aoba looked over at David and then back at Bill with an idea

"Maybe you can work something out with David? You two are friends, right?" Bill sighs and readjusts his thoughts as he says

"Yeah, we are. I'm happy for him and all that, but damn." Aoba shrugs as he isn't that familiar with David

"I may not talk to him a lot, but I hear he's reasonable. If either of you bump into each other, you should talk." Bill's face looked like he thought about Aoba's advice and he thought to agree with it. At the time after rehearsals and when everyone was walking back to their dorms, Legosi was walking with David, as he always would. David was looking at the night sky and Legosi looked over at David, he was amazed that David didn't look or smell nervous, so he asked
