Chapter 26 - Return to the Shishigumi

With helping Haru at the garden club now finished, then another drama club meeting gone and done, David had to prepare for sneaking out tonight. He would recall back to a moment with Gouhin when seeking his advice during Legosi's initial training. In Gouhin's office, David leaned against a chair while Gouhin sat and smoked in the chair opposite of him.

"Sorry, kid, not much can be done about your appearance. In both looks and smell, most carnivores can pick you out of a large crowd like a crooked nail."

David would give a frustrated huff as he got off the chair he leaned on. With Legosi now getting trained of his carnivorous instincts, David hated to feel useless. The school was dangerous now that the killer was aware they're being hunted, but coming here was dangerous because of the Shishigumi.

"What can be done then? I have to have some sort of option."

Given how dangerous this is getting, David needs some sort of edge. Getting Louis part of the investigation would not only get the Shishigumi reformed and on his side, but David wouldn't need a disguise every time to start receiving training from Gouhin.

"Legosi can't fight by himself, we know this, but I can't be too weak to do anything, if the killer is as strong as Legosi says."

Gouhin would take another puff of his cigarette as he was thinking. There were options, but they were tedious.

"Well, there's one, but it requires being extremely precise and careful." Gouhin then leaned forward, catching David's utmost attention. "We disguise you as another species entirely."

David raised an eyebrow, was that possible? Visions ran through his mind of him based on what he would look like as a wolf, another lion, or even as a rabbit. Gouhin would then give David a field trip to a warehouse, being the guardian of the dark market helped have Gouhin know the people he needed to help in this situation. David was introduced to a chameleon mask maker and a panther war veteran who specialised in recon. These were the people who'd help others disappear, but now it was to help David blend in. With some work and hours of tailoring the disguise to David, the human had a custom made cougar head tailored around his exact facial features. When it would like he's speaking, the mask speaks with him how a cougar would talk. A tail was also provided, but it was not as advanced. David was just then instructed he'd have to apply makeup around his eyes to blend the mask in naturally with his skin. Finally, to perfect the cougar disguise, David had to smell and behave like one, which the panther helped instruct and provide genuine cougar scent David would have to spray on himself. When putting it all together for the first time, David would look to Gouhin for input

"Much better. You wear that anytime you need to come see me, or just if you need to see that boyfriend of yours, heh."

This disguise was temporary, not something to commit to when David had a plan to get Louis back. David would then inspect himself carefully in the mirror, touching the ears and watching them bounce a little when folded over

"It looks so real! I look like a real mountain lion!"

"This type of business is to help herbivores too scared to go out at night or for creepy fetish parties. My friends were happy to finally put their skills to work on someone who will be using their work as part of tracking a killer."

Gouhin looked in the mirror with David. There was a thought the panda had he'd like to ask David, given it was Legosi who would inform Gouhin on who David was before.

"Say, why go this far? From what I understand, there hasn't been another murder in your school for months."

The memory would end as David was faced with the cougar mask back in his hands at the drama club makeup room. However, he'd then think to himself, continuing the thought to Gouhin's question
