Chapter 25 - Help at Herbology

A week goes by after David found Legosi injured in that school alley. The two of them and Jack never told anyone what happened, but it was for the best. David made sure to have his dad help, filling him in and having him pull strings to look into old police reports. Eventually, the two will have to train if they're going to confront the killer, Legosi more than the human. David isn't sure how much stronger he can get, but Legosi definitely can, so he needs the time to get stronger in order for their confrontation with Tem's killer someday, Gouhin is helping with that, though he had to shave Legosi to his white fur if he was going to avoid being recognized by the Shishigumi. David wasn't going to be able to see Gouhin for training though, he was far too recognisable as the only human in the world. David's thoughts would still be on Legosi however, he would have to see him much less if they had to train privately, but it had to be done, as much as he didn't like it. Not only that, but David learned of the new member of their club, Pina the curly haired dall sheep. From what he knew, the guy was charming and full of himself as a herbivore.

Suddenly, David was snapped out of his thoughts when the teacher calls out his name

"David! Are you listening?! Stop staring out the window!" David's glance shot straight to the teacher and paid attention fully back to the world.

"Eh?! Er, yes, Mr. Hoshi!" When David gave his attention, the teacher turned back to the board to continue his lesson with a huff, but David would blank out again while pretending to write on his notes. Henry would have taught all David needed to know about this lesson already, so it wasn't too important, but it was becoming a bad habit that David kept spacing out during lectures. Later on, David is walking through the halls during a break when he comes across Haru. The two make eye contact and Haru's ears bounce slightly as she eagerly approaches her friend, happy to meet with him once again.

"David! It's been a little while! How have you been?"

"Hey, Haru! I'm feeling good, just leaving history." Haru was happy to see David, but without Legosi by his side, it's not like every happy meeting. David had his last class for the day, which Haru knew considering this is how they usually meet most times, which brings her to ask

"I was actually wondering: would you like to come help me out in tending the flowers at my club?" Haru has thought about asking David all day, figuring he must be missing Legosi's presence, so decides to help give him her own company.

"I'd be happy to help!" David and Haru would then begin walking together, making the bunny girl happy. As the two walked, they would continue their conversation.

"So David, are you worried about finals at all? We have only a few months left until graduation." David had forgotten that time was so close. Soon, he'd have to live as a full adult.

"Oh, uh... eh, not really. I've had other things in mind."

"Oh?" Haru would look curiously at David. She wanted to ask, but worried about prying. However, David would fill Haru in anyway, given how his chat about the investigation with Jack went, more of David and Legosi's friends deserve to know.

"Well, you remember when I was put in the hospital? It's about the day before that." David referred to when he fought the killer, but lost so quickly. It's felt like ages since David did anything with the drama club, but knows what the human is talking about regardless. David continues

"I've been starting to remember important bits about that day. Very important bits. I've had an encounter with the killer and he's a student in our school." As David made this statement, Haru looked shocked. It was a surprise to admit in just a casual stroll.

"Wha-?!" Haru gasps out and then she pulls David aside to a nearby stairwell to discuss the situation.

"What do you mean?! Are we in danger?!"
