Chapter 18 - Trying to be Busy

David started his day at drama club practice like any other day. Practice and plan, that's all there was to do for the festival. Right as he was looking over a paper of the festival layout on a clipboard, he heard a girl shriek. When he turned to see who it was, it was one of the female members pointing at something. When focusing on what she was pointing at, it was Bill and Louis. It seemed Bill had cut Louis's hand on accident. David saw Ellen the zebra and Sanu run to Bill and Louis, Ellen asked

"What the hell happened, Bill?!" The act even surprised Bill, he was hasty to tell his club mates this wasn't on purpose

"Wait, wait, wait, we were in the middle of practicing! I just made a mistake and scratched him on accident!" Sanu spoke to Louis with a concerned tone

"Louis, are you ok?" The scratch was bleeding more than expected as Louis held onto his hand and said

"I'm fine. It's only a scratch." The blood didn't sit well with Sanu

"Let's take you to the infirmary." Louis shook his head before he denied the idea

"It's fine, I could just use the first aid kit in the leader room." Bill saw the blood drip, it disturbed him, but seeing as he provided the injury, he saw to it that he makes it up to Louis.

"Hey, Louis! I'll take you there! Helping you is the least I can do!" David was too distracted to hear what else Bill had to say by the blood. He thought about how it could happen, a tiger usually works like any other feline, they have their claws tucked away in their fingers unless they're on the assertive. It wasn't like David to assume Bill to attack Louis, he thought maybe he was only caught up in the moment. Before he could ask questions, Bill had already walked Louis to the leader room, so David decided to wait and meet with Bill later. David didn't notice Legosi had walked next to him until he said

"Hey, David. What just happened? Everyone looks surprised at something." David turns to Legosi after finally noticing

"Oh, Legosi. You know, the usual. Bill making people bleed in the heat of acting." Legosi looks down at David's side and felt surprised David would describe it that way

"You, uh... you remember that?" David looks at Legosi with a raised eyebrow

"Remember what? I was only kidding." Legosi looks away, not trying to make David remember that day where he and Bill fought on stage during a performance.

"N-nothing." Legosi figured David remembers fighting Bill, but not the moment where Bill stabbed his thumb into David's side.

[10 minutes later]

Bill has returned, but he looked shaken up, David was the first to notice and chose to talk to Bill about it. Bill sat on a bench, so David took it upon himself to sit next to him and say

"Hello, Bill." Bill slouched, looked at the ground and sighed, David wasn't sure if he was relaxing or getting over something. "You feeling alright? You look like your pants accidentally went down during a performance." The attempt at comic relief didn't amuse Bill, but it got his attention

"Very funny, David, but that's not what I need right now." David only felt more curious why Bill was acting the way he was

"Did something happen with you and Louis?" Bill averted his gaze when asked so, he was shy on the topic, and avoids it

"No, nothing. Nothing sudden." David raises an eyebrow. He was curious why Bill brought up sudden, as if something did happen Bill had no idea about.

"Bill. I can promise you that I won't be telling anyone else if you let me in on what happened." Bill had a worried expression, but he soon looked frustrated. Not at David, but with himself. He couldn't believe a herbivore was frightening him. Until Bill finally worked up the courage, he looked at David with a sure expression
