CHAPTER 3:
Emma's POV:
I groan, reach over and slam my alarm shut. I groan again as I realise that today is the day I go to University for the first time as a student.
I get up and go to the bathroom, splashing cold water all over my face and brush my teeth, trying not to waste my time.
I then head over to the closet after the shower I very much needed. I take out a pair of skinny black jeans and a short sleeved white t-shirt with a black jean jacket. I decide to wear a pair of white shoes with it. I look pretty decent for my first day, I say to myself. I grab the black backpack with a book to make notes.
As I drive towards the Uni, I start feeling excited but very nervous. What if I mess up and will be sent to the principal’s office? What if I fall asleep? What if I don’t make many friends? By the time I have parked the car, I almost had a panic attack. I take deep breaths and calm myself down a little. Suddenly there is a knock on my window. I look up and recognize the girl from the restaurant; I think her name is Juliet or something. I am not that good with names. I get out of the car and lock it.
“Hi! I saw you driving in and thought I should come say hi.” She says.
“Thanks! I am glad!” I say. “What are you studying?” I ask her as we walk into the hallway, where so many students are already loitering.
“I am studying business and management. What about you?” she asks.
“Oh my god! What a coincidence, me too!” I reply a little too enthusiastically, I think.
“Let me see your schedule.” She says. I hand over my schedule to her. Turns out, we have first two lectures together. I am so glad to have somebody known with me. We walk towards the first class together and she tells me that a few of her friends are going to be there too. She also invited me to sit with her during lunch.
I go to sit in the middle of the class when Jules drags me towards the back. By the way, I politely asked her for her name and also told her that I may or may not be that good with names, she laughed it off, thank god.
We sit on the second last row. We are in the middle of a conversation when the professor walks in. He introduces himself as Mr Baldoni and he will be teaching law. As soon as he is done teaching, a few guys walk in late. The professor lets them in as it is the first day. Jules calls them over and I assume they are her friends. She introduces me to them, Sean, Isaac, Jack, Isabelle and Veronica. They start talking among themselves and I kind of feel left out so I pay attention to the professor. But I overhear them talking about some student that is friends with Sean who also started and is from someplace in San Francisco. I am just about to say something when the bell rings indicating the next period will start in a few. I remind myself to ask them during the next lecture.
We walk towards the next lecture, marketing which I absolutely loathe. We settle in the second last and last benches again. I decide to strike a conversation with them and ask them about the mystery guy.
“So, I overheard you’ll talking about some guy from San Francisco. What’s his name?” I turn around and ask them, but mostly to Sean.
“Oh! Jeremy?” Sean asks me. My eyes go wide as I hear the name. But calm myself down by thinking that he cannot be here. There are over thousands of Jeremy’s in the whole of San Francisco, there is no way they are the same person.
Just then someone takes a seat beside me. Sean starts greeting him so I turn around to look at him properly. As soon as I turn around to look at him, my eyes go wide, my blood runs cold and my mouth is as dry as the Sahara desert and my jaw hits the floor. I can’t believe my eyes.
“FUCK! YOU HAVE GOTTA BE KIDDING ME” I practically shout.AUTHOR'S NOTE:
