CHAPTER 41:

Emma's POV:

I am discharged from the hospital at around 4 in the afternoon. The changed the cast with bandage which looks much better. The drive back to my apartment is silent and comfortable. The song softly playing in the background. I hum along the song Conversations In The Dark by John Legend. We reach my apartment in a few minutes. I am about to open the door, when a hand stops me. I look at Jeremy with a raised eyebrow.

"I'll help you get upstairs. Then I have to swing back to my apartment" he says and gets out of the car. He jogs to the passenger side and helps me get out.

"You don't have to come back" I say as we climb the stairs. I hiss in pain when I am done with the first flight of stairs. This is going to be a long ass journey. Jeremy doesn't say anything just helps me get to my room. When I am comfortable on the bed Jeremy decides to talk.

"I know I don't have to be here, but I am not leaving you with a broken leg and bruised forehead. I'll go back to my apartment at night and come back early morning" he says and I furrow my brows in confusion.

"Why would you go back? You are staying with me, no arguments" I say and he chuckles. He agrees but goes to his apartment for clothes. By the time he is back, I am fast asleep.

I wake up with a yawn. I slept for about two hours and I feel a little better. I rub my eyes and sit up. I find a glass of water and a pill on my bedside table with a note that says 'Eat me ; )'. My dirty mind goes down the gutter at the choice of words. But I shake my head with a smile and take the pills.

Just then Jeremy walks in with a bag of food and my mouth starts watering.

"Oh my god! Please tell me that's Chick-fil-A" I say while staring at the bag.

"Yes it is" he says and holds the bag in the air. Ad soon as he is close enough, I grab the bag from his hands and tear it open. He takes a seat on the bed beside me.

As soon as the bag is open, I can smell all kinds of amazing food and I breath it all in. We eat in bed and talk about random stuff. He goes to grab the tissues on the table when he is done. I am still completing my drink. He tears open an envelope and I face him wondering what he has. I see the envelope and my eyes widen. It's the tickets.

But before I can grab them, he takes them out and looks at them with confusion.

"What are these?" He finally asks me after what feels like an eternity.

"That.. it's ..umm.. nothing" I say clearly lying which he see right through. They are handmade tickets that I specifically made and it's clearly written what it's for.

"Don't lie to me! What's it for?" He asks me. I look at him, he doesn't look angry at all he just looks .. surprised.

"It was just a gift for our two month anniversary. I know how much you miss playing so I thought why not. But forget about it." I mumble and draw the patterns on my bed sheet.

"No, let's go. I can teach you how to play" he says and I look up so quick, I almost get a whiplash. I look at him with surprise because that is not what I expected him to say.

"So, you don't think it's lame?" I ask him meekly. Not sure if I want to know the answer to that.

"No. It's not lame at all. It's thoughtful if not anything else" he says and places his hand on mine. His answer makes me smile and I am glad that I didn't make a fool out of myself.
