Chapter 46

CHAPTER 46:

Emma's POV:

It's been almost a month since University started and I am finally getting the hang of it. I am also kind of getting used to the new waitress job I have. That's one hell of a story. Let me tell you about it.

I had gone the first day when I was supposed to be starting when the manager called me in his cabin. He said that they hired new staff when I was off 'vacationing' and I was so angry when he said that. Because no way was I vacationing but I just started walking out the door, not giving him a chance to complete what he was saying.

I found out about a cafe that was hiring. So one day ,I just went there to check it out. It was such an amazing place. They had glass walls, a bell that rings when you enter and the right side filled with romantic books to read. The owner of the cafe was a lady in her fifties. A very sweet person and she hired me instantly. Never been more happy about that decision. It reminded me of the cafe that I worked at in the US.

Currently I am trying to study at Jeremy's apartment. It's Friday night and we had planned to complete all the week's homework and study for a few upcoming tests. He is working on something on his laptop and I am completing an assignment for my World Religion class. I am just a very distracted person in general so it was bound to happen.

"I am really hungry" I say in a somewhat whiny tone. I look at him and he looks up from the laptop.

"Should I make something?" He asks me.

"Umm.. I want to eat something spicy like indian food" I tell him.

"Ohh.. should I order?" He asks me.

"There's a place nearby which serves amazing indian food, but it doesn't deliver. Please could you get it?" I say and join my hands in front of me.

"I don't know" he says in a thinking manner.

"Please? Pretty please with a cherry on top?" I say with my famous puppy dog eyes. I am told that no one can rest them.

"Ughh.. I can't resist that face" he says with a groan.

"Thank you! Thank you so much" I say and kiss him on the cheek.

"Uh.. huh.. that isn't enough" he says and I look over at him with confusion. He puckers his lips and I laugh at him.

"That is the reward when you bring the food" i say and he is out of the bed within a second. He grabs his wallet and is about to leave, but he turns around.

"What do you want to eat?" He asks.

"I don't know. Surprise me!" I say with excitement. He nods his head and leaves.

About five minutes later my phone starts ringing. I pick it up without looking, rookie mistake.

'Hello' I say into the phone.

'Hello' a familiar voce speaks.

I pull the phone away from my ear to check who it is. The first thing I realise is that this is not my phone, it's Jer's. Second thing, it's his mum. The mother who hated me with all her might.
