Chapter 26

CHAPTER 26:

Emma's POV:

We played around three games and all the three games were won by Jeremy. And I was consistently last in every single game. They laughed at me so hard.

But overall it was a well spent Sunday. I don't remember last when I had so much fun with my friends. My friends at high school were with me because I was rich and would give them expensive gifts or something similar. I stopped doing that when I realised they used to back bitch about me and hang out without me. Needless to say, they were all fake. Over time, I distanced myself from them. I was very happy when I got accepted far away. That place had a lot of memories I didn't want to live through.

Fast forward, today is Monday. We are all heading towards the first period for the day. It's Monday so everyone is very tired and grumpy. We settle down on the back benches. I have grown comfortable to sit in the back now. Jeremy takes a seat on my right and Veronica on my left.

Mr. Baldoni walks in and starts teaching. Mr. Baldoni says that he has an important announcement to make at the end of the class. I rest my heaad on the table and am trying to concentrate when Jeremy  pokes me. I try and ignore him so I can concentrate.

"Psst.. psst" he whispers. When I don't look at him he tries again. He keeps trying and I get really frustrated.

"What?!" I say in a whisper shout. He gives me an adorable face and I melt into a puddle.

"I can't concentrate" he whispers.

"Well I can't either but atleast try" I whisper back.

"I am very sleepy" he says and rests his head on the table. We are both facing each other. We both smile at each other. After a few minutes, he falls asleep. He looks adorable while sleeping. I look back at the professor.

After what feels like an eternity, the class is about to end and he is about to announce. So I wake Jeremy up. He wakes up with a startle and I jerk back a little at his reaction. He apologizes and rubs his eyes and sits up straight. Now, everyone's eyes are concentrated on the professor.

"Today is the 9th of December. Your winter break starts from the 14th and it ends on the 5th of January. Your exams will commence from the 6th of January and will end on 11th of January" he says and everyone starts whispering among themselves. There is a lot of chaos within seconds. Mr.Baldoni realises he won't be able to stop anyone so he exits the class.

"Well there go my winter break plans" Jules says and she looks upset.

"Aren't the exam dates decided way before? Did you not know about it?" Jeremy asks.

" I knew about it but its worse when someone announces like that" she says.

"Like what?" I ask her not know ing what she is saying.

"Basically, she means that when the professor says it like that, it feels like thay are closer" Bella explains for Jules.

I just laugh at her weird logic. Because that didn't make sense at all.

We attend all the next lectures where every person tells us about the exams and the syllabus and everything. Now I feel what Jules said. When they put it like that, it does feel worse.
