CHAPTER 24:
Emma's POV:
For a second, I don't know what to say. But then I know just what to do.
"Yes, I definitely will" I say with a huge smile on my face. My answer brings a huge smile on his face too. We are both smiling goofily and then he leans in for a kiss.
"Uh..huh. no kissing before the date" I tell him to tease. He raises an eyebrow at me. Then he has a smirk on his face, and now I am the one confused.
"Yes ma'am. But before the end of the date you'll be begging to kiss me" he says smugly. It is true that I can't resist the lips since I last kissed them. Now I am kindof regretting my decision.
"We'll see about that. Now can you drive?" I ask him because I will get late for work. He looks at me like I am dumb. I finally look around, recognising my building. I look at him with a sheepish smile and get out of the car. He gets out with me even when I asked him not to. His reply was 'I want to'. There's no arguing that.
So currently, we are in my apartment. I am getting dressed and he is waiting for me in the living room. I wear a black skirt with a white buttoned up shirt. The dresscode for the restaurant is white and black, it could be anything. But the other waitresses wear black skirts so I wear them too. My feet are hurting a little, so I wear a pair of black flats and tie my hair in a high pony tail. I apply very little makeup and leave the room. I see Jeremy reading a fashion magazine that was kept on the couch.
He throws the magazine on the table and stands up with a jerk, when he hears the door open. I decide not to say anything. I go to grab my car keys when he stops me by grabbing my wrist.
" Don't, I'll drop you" he says and pulls me out of the apartment with my wrist. I take everything I need in a hurry and lock the apartment.
On the curb, Jeremy is waiting with the door open. I thank him and take a seat. I give him the restaurants address and we start talking.
"You never told me you lived around?" We are practically neighbours" I tell him.
"It never came up. I just don't go around telling people where I live, you know" he says and taps my nose. I pull my tongue at him and look out. He opens his mouth to say something but my phone starts ringing. I give him an apologetic look and take the phone. It's Jules.
"Hey, what's up?" I say into the phone.
"Don't hey me, where did you go? All I got was text from Jeremy saying you weren't feeling well. You know you could've called us" she shouts at me. I have to pull the phone away from my ear.
"I am sorry. He was around so I asked him. I am getting late for work, could we meet later? All the four of us?" I say hoping she would agree. I have a lot to tell them and I can't with Jeremy sitting right beside me.
She agrees and we decide to meet in the evening at the ice cream parlour.
"So, I assume we won't have the date tonight?" Jeremy asks me and I look at him with wide eyes.
"Was the date tonight? I thought it will be later in the week or something. I am sorry. You know what, I'll cancel the plan with the girls..." I trail off when he bursts out in fits of laughter. I am confused, did I say something funny that I didn't even realise. I wait for him to speak. He parks the car near the restaurant when his laughter dies down.
