"Daniel, where are you taking me?" I asked.
"To a destination."
I rolled my eyes at his vague response and relaxed in the car seat. Daniel told me to dress casual because he was taking me somewhere tonight, but he won't tell me where.
The drive seemed to go on forever and ever, until we rolled up at Manhattan beach, which is the place where we met almost five years ago.
I got out of the car and Daniel jogged around the car to me, wrapping his arm around my waist as he led me down towards the ocean.
"Can you believe our five year anniversary is in two weeks?" i asked, leaning on him as he wrapped his arms around me from behind.
"I know. Best five years of my life," he sighed.
We stood in silence for a few minutes, watching the waves crash. Daniel kept shifting from leg to leg.
"Are you good?" I asked, turning around to meet his nervous eyes.
"I...um...." he trailed off.
He let go of my waist and gently took my hands in his shaking hands.
"Baby, what's wrong?" I asked.
"When I met you, our future like...it just...it appeared. I just instantly saw a future with you. I've been in love with you, practically my entire life. You're so selfless and you always know just what to say to make me feel better. You're the most amazing, incredible, beautiful being i've ever met and I want nothing more than to spend the rest of my life with you."
He paused to reach into his pocket, pulling out a small velvet box. He let out a nervous breath and then sunk down on one knee, his left hand still holding mine.
"I love you. So much. I promise I always will. So...will you marry me?" he asked, staring up at me with hopeful eyes.
"You never fail to give me butterflies. Of course i'll marry you, I love you too."
His award winning smile made an appearance as he slid the gorgeous ring into my finger.
He stood up, picking me up and kissing me and then kissing a happy tear away.
"Holy shit, we're gonna be husband and wife!" he smiled, keeping his arms wrapped tightly around me.
"I can't wait!"
