daniel and i have been married for a year now and i've known him for almost ten years. even though i've known him for a very long time, i still fall for all of his stupid pranks.
today, he pulled the worst prank he's ever pulled.
i went to the grocery store and when i came back,
i almost had a heart attack.
i walked into our kitchen to see daniel laying on the ground, blood all over his face, and a frying pan laying next to him.
i started shaking him and freaking out when all of a sudden, the lights went off. the only light was from the window, which the curtains covered. a dark figure ran up and grabbed me, causing me to scream and burst into tears.
"please don't hit me!" i screamed as i flinched away from the figure.
i started sobbing as the figure let go of me. the lights suddenly came on, revealing jack dressed in a scary costume and daniel, who was seemingly fine.
daniel moved towards me and i flinched, still frazzled and confused.
"why the fuck did you just flinch?" he asked.
"i-i don't know."
jack quickly apologized and rubbed my back before leaving daniel and i alone.
"w-what the fuck just happened? you're bleeding, daniel, what's going on?" i cried.
"hey, hey, it was a prank. it was just a joke to scare you. it wasn't meant to go this far, i swear," he said, grabbing my shaking hand.
i only started crying harder, which made daniel freak out.
"no, don't cry. i hate it when you cry," he said, his hands rubbing up and down my back as i cried into his chest.
"shhh, i know. i'm sorry, baby, i didn't mean to make you cry," he said.
"i was so scared, i thought y-you were dead," i sobbed.
"no, hey, it's okay. i would never let anything bad happen to you, i will protect you with my life. i'm always going to keep you safe from everything," he assured.
daniel held me until i was okay and then we put the groceries away. we ended up taking a bath together and then fell asleep on the living room floor after watching a movie.
