"A dare? I was a fucking dare?" I shouted at my boyfriend of almost a year.
"Please...just let me explain," Daniel said, his eyes beginning to fill with tears.
"Why should I? I mean, seriously, you fucking lied to me for almost a year, why should I believe you now?" I yelled.
"You're right. You have no reason to trust me, but I really need you to believe me when I say that even though this started as a dare, I quickly fell in love with you and now the thought of losing you makes my heart break," he said, his tears threatening to fall.
"Daniel, I gave you everything! You were my first kiss, my first boyfriend! I let you take my virginity! And none of that was real! I really don't care how you feel now, you're a fucking liar!" I screamed, causing him to start to cry.
"I know. I'm sorry. Really. I'm so so sorry. Please...please just give me one more chance. I'm so sorry, I love you so much," he sobbed.
"I gave you your chance, and you just used it to stab me in the back!"
He opened his mouth, but no words came out, only a broken sob.
"I hope someday you get a taste of your own medicine," I growled, grabbing my phone and car keys.
"Wait! Please don't leave! I...please," he cried, continuing to break down.
What he did hurt me, but it hurt me even more to watch the boy I was in love with break down in front of me.
I sighed and walked to him, pulling him up and off the couch.
He gave me a confused look as tears silently fell down his cheeks.
"Give me a hug, you asshole," I said.
He latched himself onto me and cried into my shoulder.
"Don't cry, it's okay. I know you don't wanna hear this, but I think we need a little break from each other," I said.
As soon as the words left my mouth, his crying picked up and his grip on me tightened.
"Shh, Dani, please don't cry. Someday, if we're meant to be together, then maybe we will end up together. Just think of this as a see you later, not a goodbye. I have to go, but I promise it will all be okay. Just.....take care of yourself for me. Never forget that I care about you and i'll always love you. See you later, Dani," I said, kissing away a few of his tears and then leaving one soft kiss on his forehead before heading out the door.
I guess it's up to fate now.
