Authors note

There is another sex scene in this chapter, I'll put a disclaimer before it happens. With ⚠️ emoji.

I woke up to Shane still sleeping on my chest. I smiled and gently woke him up.

"Shane, baby. Wake up." I shook him only slightly and he gripped me closer.

"Nope. Not today." Shane wiggled his head into my chest and I laughed hard. He had his natural morning voice, low and sexy.

"C'mon. Let's go." I kissed Shane on the head. He rolled me on top of him. He smiled and sat up, sliding me down to his lap. He gently kissed my cheek, I felt him smile against me. I rolled my head back and gave him more room.

"See you don't really want to get up." Shane smiled and pulled away a bit. "Anyways lets get up." Shane smirked at me. I growled and slid off him. I unzipped the tent and left before him. Shane followed behind and we saw dad.

"C'mon we've got work to do." Dad walked past us and motioned for us to follow. We did so quickly and were on top of it. "Morning guys. Let's get going, we've got a lot of ground to cover." We walked through the camp while dad already began popping out orders. We approached the cruiser where the map was placed out already. "All right. Everybody's getting new search grids today. If she made it as far as the farmhouse Daryl found, she might have gone further East than we've been so far."

"I'd like to help." A boy who I haven't met yet approached us with his hands in his pockets. "I know the area pretty well and stuff."

"Hershels okay with this?" I stepped up and the boy looked at me before looking me up and down.

"Yeah, yeah. He said I should ask Rick." He looked from me to dad and I raised an eyebrow at him.

"Alright. Thanks." Dad nodded at him.

"Nothing about what Daryl found screams Sophia to me. Anyone could have been hold up in that farmhouse." Shane scrunched his nose as he sat in the cruiser.

"Anybody includes her, right?" Andrea spoke up and looked at Daryl.

"Whoever slept until the cupboard was no bigger than yay-high." Daryl raised his hand slightly above is waist. About accurate to how tall Sophia is.

"It's a good lead. Maybe we'll pick up her trail again." I smiled and leaned on the cruiser next to Shane.

"No maybe about it. I'm gonna borrow a horse, head up to this ridge right here, take a birds eye view of the whole grid. If she's up there I'll spot her." Daryl pointed out on the map.

"Good idea." T-dog looked at Daryl and gave him a look, in a good way. "Maybe you'll see your Chupacabra up there too."

"Chupacabra?" Dad spoke what I thought.

"You never head this?" Dale unzips a bag. "Our first night in camp, Daryl tells us that the whole thing reminds him of a time when he went squirrel hunting and he saw a  Chupacabra." Dale chuckles lightly. The new guy does too.

"What are you braying at jackass?" Daryl looks at everyone suspiciously.

"You believe in a blood-sucking dog?" Dad smiled at Daryl.

"You believe in dead people walking around." Daryl nodded at Dad. The new guy went for the rifle laying on the table. Dad quickly took it away. I drew my attention to Shane. While they talked.

"We stickin' together today?" Shane smiled at me. Then looked behind me to see the guy walking away looking back at me. "Why don't you come train tomorrow? If your serious I'm a certified instructor." Shane stood up and put an arm around my waist to claim me.
