It's Thursday. Which means Bear won't be home for two more days. Thus, Shawn will be miserable for two more days.

I promised myself that I'd go to check on him every day until his son comes back, to make sure he's okay.
Well technically, he's okay. Actually, not at all.

It's 3:47 PM. I'm wide awake, and have been since 5:50.
I've been debating internally whether to call Shawn or not. I don't know if he's at work or not. If he is, then fine I could call him, though he doesn't like to be disturbed at work. If he is not, then he might be sleeping and I wouldn't want to wake him up. Sleep is good. He'll be peaceful in those precious hours of sleep.

Eventually, I decide I'll call.
I call, no answer. Again, no answer. Again, no answer. Now I'm worried. If he's at work, he should've answered by now, or at least his secretary, or Noah.
If he isn't, he should've woken up by now.

I call again, and finally, he answers. Now I'm relieved.

"Mendes." He answers on the fifth ring, sounding cold. Sounding all-business.

"Shawn?"

It's weird that he says Mendes, as if he doesn't know who I am. Doesn't he have my number?

"Sophia? Hey."

"Hey. You have my number, right?"

"Oh yes. I didn't look at the phone. I just answered. I was sleeping."

"Oh. I'm sorry I woke you up."

"It's okay. Are you good? Is everything alright?" He sounds worried, panicked even.

"Calm down, Shawn. I'm okay. I'm just checking on you."

"I'm okay."

"Mmm. Okay. You want me to come over?"

"I'm at work."

What? He fell asleep. At work. He didn't sleep last night obviously.

"It's okay. I'll talk too you later."

"No. Don't hang up!" He yelled.

"Okay. I'm here."

"I don't want you to come over."

Message received.

"I 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 you to come over." He says, surprisingly.

Woah. Wow. This makes me have butterflies in my stomach. He needs me to come over! He needs me!

"I'll go to my apartment. Come. I'll meet you there."

"Okay. See ya."

"You know what? I'm picking you up."

"Shawn, no. You don't have t—"

"Well, I'm technically your boss. It's an order. Get ready." I can hear his smile.

"Okay, Mr. Mendes. I'm waiting."

He laughs and hangs up.

I feel very happy. I like the guy too much. This isn't good. This won't end well. Oh God.

Mom. How would I go there again? Yes we talked last night but she won't approve. I know it. And if she sees him, she'd want to meet him. No no no no. No!

You know what? I'll tell her. I won't hide it. I like him and she already knows this.
I mean, that's my boss coming to pick me up. Not a big deal... right? It's completely professional!

Ugh! Who am I kidding? It's unprofessional.
Me going there yesterday, when Bear isn't even home is unprofessional. Going to McDonald's with my boss isn't professional. Him taking me to his favorite place isn't professional at all.
