𝗦𝗛𝗔𝗪𝗡'𝗦 𝗣𝗢𝗩

I wake up at 6 AM to the sound of my alarm. Today is a happy day. My son is finally coming back here. Sophia will be here in an hour or so.
I feel better these days. Every time Bear goes to Christina's house, I get miserable until he comes back. This time, though, I'm good. Yes of course, I miss him. But I'm not as sad as I used to be. And I think, no. I 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 it's because of Sophia. I should call her.

"Good morning." I tell her over the phone.

"Good morning." She sounds all sleepy.

"Did I wake you up?"

"No. I was awake anyway."

"Even if I did, It's okay. You should wake up early for you to come here early." I tease.

"Okay, Mendes. Now I need to go. I have to get ready."

"Okay. Bye. I'll see you soon."

"You will."

I shower, get dressed, brush my hair and head to my kitchen. I make two cheesy omelettes. I'm kinda excited, to be honest.

This girl is too special to me. I took her to my favorite place. I've never done this with Christina, or anyone, for that matter. Oh my God. I'm falling hard and I don't know that I can stop.

As I'm setting the kitchen table, I hear the door bell ring. Sophia!

I open the door, close it and hug her.

"Hey." I say.

"Good morning."

I pull back and head to the kitchen with her.

"Smells good!" She appreciates.

"You mean me or the food?"

She looked at me, narrowing her eyes and laughs.

"Both."

Didn't expect this answer.

We sit at the table across from each other and start eating.

"So you think I smell good?"

"Your perfume is amazing, Shawn. And if you don't know that, then you must see a therapist or something. You are crazy if you don't know that. It's just a fact."

I laugh hard. I earn a smile.

"So I've been thinking about doing something special for Bear. He loves Pizza. But I don't want him to eat unhealthy food. Soooo, I was thinking that we make homemade Pizza. I think he'd like the experience."

He'd love it.

"A brilliant idea. I know my son, and I know that he'd want to do this."

"Good. Let me just check something."

She stands up, checks my cupboards and turns to face me.

"When was the last time you bought grocery?"

When did I? Shit, I don't know.

"I don't remember."

"Let's go buy some stuff for the Pizza. You have almost nothing for the pizza."

"Okay. Let me get my car keys."

****************************
Fifteen minutes later, we pull up in the parking lot of the grocery store. We get inside the store and Sophia picks a cart.

"Okay. We need flour, yeast, pizza sauce, mozzarella. Do I make a homemade sauce or just get a jar of pizza sauce?" She says, while we're walking through the store aisles.
