𝗦𝗛𝗔𝗪𝗡'𝗦 𝗣𝗢𝗩
I wake up today at 8 AM—in Spain's time zone. Which means I only slept about 3 hours only, since I arrived at my hotel at 5 AM. And it sucks.
I'll have to adjust to the sleeping in different time zones. If it's 8 AM here, it means it's only 2 AM in Canada. Which means my girl, my son, my sister and parents are asleep. I'll have to call them in about 5 to 8 hours, I suppose. Damn it.
I get out of bed and into the bathroom. I take a quick shower and get dressed quickly. I go for a pair of jeans and a t-shirt, since our meeting is at lunchtime.
I'm very hungry and I'd really like to eat. So I call Noah.
"Hey, man."
"What the hell, man? It's 8:20 AM. We came here at 5 AM. Why are you even awake?" His voice is so sleepy.
"I just am. Time zones gap, I think."
"So? Go to sleep again."
"Actually, I'm going to the hotel's restaurant. I need some food in my system."
"Okay. Bon appétit."
"Are you really that stupid? I called you to fucking wake you up. Get up! Or I will come make you get up. Your room is right across from mine."
"I'm not ready for this bullshit at 8 in the damn morning, Shawn! Ugh. Fine."
"I'll wait for you in the restaurant."
"Fine." He says it a little loudly.
I get out of my room and take the elevator. I press the "2" button; that's the floor the restaurant is on.
When I arrive at the restaurant, I take a table and wait for Noah. I look around me; almost everyone from the company is here. I nod at them in acknowledgment.
The asshole said he'd be here twenty minutes ago. I dial his number.
"I'm in front of the elevators. Calm down."
"Okay." And I hang up.
A couple of minutes later, he shows up. He walks over to my table and takes the seat across from me.
"Why are all those people here? It's almost 9 in the morning."
"Not everyone is a lazy-ass."
"I'm not lazy."
"Sure." I roll my eyes.
"Why can't we just order our food to our rooms?"
"Why can't we eat in the hotel's restaurant?"
He rolls his eyes in annoyance.
"Spit it. You're not that sleepy or annoyed in the morning unless you sleep way too late. What time did you really sleep?"
"Like an hour before you called."
"Why?"
From the look on his face, I know why: my sister.
"You were talking to Aaliyah, weren't you?"
"That's the main reason, but not the only one."
I give him a look that tells him "really?"
"Yeah, I was talking to Aaliyah. Okay? Just get over it already, Mendes."
