Sixty-one

Today, I woke up having a plan. But I needed to do something first. So I called Aaliyah.

"Sophia! Miss you!"

"Hey Aaliyah! Miss you too!"

"How are you?"

"I'm fine. What about you?"

"I'm good."

"I need a favor."

"Sure. Tell me."

"I want to go out.....to run an errand....so I need someone to be with Bear....."

"Okay. Sure. I'll meet you in Shawn's."

"Great! Thank you so much."

I called Noah, then.

"Soph. What's up?"

"Noah. Hey. Look. I need a favor. You won't really like it though."

"What is it?"

"I need Christina's phone number."

"Oh."

"Yeah."

"Is there something?"

"I'll explain later, I promise."

"Okay, sure."

And he gave me that bitch's number.

And finally, I called Christina.

"Christina Mendes."

Mendes?

"Hey Christina. It's Sophia Johnson. Bear's nanny."

"Oh. Hello, Sophia."

"Can we meet somewhere?"

"Umm. Okay.... but why?"

"I need to talk to you about something...."

"Okay. Where?"

"Is Starbucks okay with you?"

"Yeah. I'll be there in thirty minutes."

And I told Bear I was going out.

"But I'll be all alone here."

"No. Of course not. I called Aaliyah and she's coming to stay with you."

"Okay." He looked sad.

"I won't be long, Bear." I kissed him on the cheek.

I waited until Aaliyah came, I greeted her and left.

I arrive at Starbucks and I find Christina there.

I sit across from her.

"Hi. Thank you for meeting me." I tell her.

"No problem. What is it?"

"Okay. So.....you told Bear you wanted him to live with you."

"Yes. It was just an idea."

"You and I both know that it wasn't just an idea."

"Okay. You're right."

"But why?"

"Because I miss my son."

"Seriously? He visits you, Christina. He just came back from a one-week-visitation at your place."

"I miss living with him."

"Christina, with all due respect, I think you won't be able to take that much care of him. And I don't think that he would want to live with you."
