Chapter 8- Effervescent

Gray's POV

It's been a week but, damn. Why do I keep on thinking about that girl?

Sometimes I just think back to the first time I laid eyes on her. I knew right then that I had found someone incredible.

I can still hear her sweet voice running on my mind

I shook my head to clear my thoughts. What's wrong with me?

-flashback-

"Why did she joined that kind of competition if she don't know how to sing?" I said to Zircon while covering my ears

That lady is crazy enough to sing in front of a huge crowd.

"Hahaha baka gipit sa pera Big bro. May consolation prize yata." he answered

The organizer invited us to be their guest for tonight's event. Brye and Ivo are not here due to some important matters.

"Pero ang pinagtataka ko Big Bro, diba lahat ng estudyante dito ay mayayaman? Siguro, nagpapasikat 'yan."

Zircon has a point and yeah, she's getting famous but in a negative way. Unbelievable.

I stood up and was about to go. But suddenly, I heard someone singing so I immediately stopped and looked at the person singing on the stage.

She's like a bird singing a clear song while hovering high in the air

That's too deep right? But as what I have heard, she sings very well. I was not feeling good but now, I feel different. I feel better and I can't keep myself from smiling.

After finishing the last note of the song, a smile appeared on her face.

Then, the crowd erupted into deafening applause and cheers.

-end of flashback-

I run my hand at my hair trying to clear my thoughts again.

I grab a glass of wine and downed the entire content. It seard my throat and I felt the burning chills that ran up the length of my body.

-flashback-

I am currently driving my car, heading my way to the office.

*Phone rings*

I stop the car and glance at the screen of my phone. I was about to answer the call but when I shifted my gaze on the road, a girl walking on the street caught my attention so I open the door slightly.

Someone's following her

"Miss, kung gusto mo pang mabuhay, ibigay mo na sa akin lahat ng gamit mo!" the guy shouted

"Bakit, wala ka bang perang pambili kuya?"

I am not too far from them that's why I can hear their conversation. I guess, they just don't feel my presence. By the way, why is that young lady still calm? Well, as if I care. She's none of my business anyway.

My eyes widened when the guy grab her arm and I know that its hurting her. She even mumbled something but I have no time to listen whatever she's saying. Without any hesitations, I get out of my car.

Why am I doing this?  I don't even know her.

"Let her go asshole." I uttered without even looking at him

"Bakit, sino ka ba?"

'The person you won't ever forget'

"It's none of your business" I muttered in a bored tone

The guy was about to punch me but it's too late. Before he could do anything, I already knocked him down.

While driving, the girl kept blabbing on and on. She even introduced herself and then asked me about my name. If I'm not mistaken, I think she's the girl at the mall. She even called me 'kuya'.

Do I really look like an older brother to her?

Fine, I'm way more older than her. But, calling me 'kuya' is too obnoxious.

"Gray ang pangalan mo? Alam ko na ang favorite color mo."

I don't even have a single clue on why my parents decided to name me like that. And to make things clear, Gray is not my favorite color. I prefer white which symbolizes purity.

After several minutes, she started singing

"You can sing." I muttered which made her stop

"Ahm, oo. Pero, hindi masyado. Konti
lang. Hindi ko nga alam kung bakit ako ang nanalo sa singing contest sa school namin kahit ang dami daming magagaling."

Singing contest?

"That's why you're familiar."

I can't be mistaken. The girl who sang in the singing contest and the girl I just saved has only one identity. And her name is Raven.

There's something special about her. Her presence pleases my mind and I can't keep myself from thinking of her.

Shit. I just met her but why am I feeling this? Why am I longing for her presence?
