(Becca's pov)
-9am-
My hand hurts, and my face felt swollen. I didn't put on any makeup, because I'm about to visit Max, which means I'm probably gonna get some more marks to cover up. I tried to disguise myself with a hoodie, so nobody finds out that's it's me. I managed to make my way to Max's apartment. I felt like something was in control of me, like something was making me walk over here and knock on his door.
"Wassup, babe?"
Max let me in and grabbed my waist.
"Not much"
I mumbled.
"Don't mumble, baby"
He glared then lit up a cigarette.
"Ok"
I said clearly.
"Here, try it"
He offered me a cigarette.
"No, thank you"
I declined as nice as possible.
"C'mon baby. Do it"
He pulled me to sit beside him.
"No, please, Max, I'm good"
I declined again.
"Do it"
He glared at me. I took it, and he lit it for me. I hesitantly put it by my lips.
"Do it right, babe"
Max ordered. I inhaled the smoke then started to cough.
"Ok, that's enough"
I set it down.
"Don't waste my money. Finish it"
He glared again.
"No more, please"
I begged him with my eyes.
"Bitch, I said don't waste my money. Now pick it up and finish it"
He grabbed the cigarette and put it in my mouth.
"Max, please. My throat hurts"
It was true. I've had a little sore throat for the last week. I wasn't that sick, but my throat has been bothering me.
"Fine...you're a fucking waste of time and space"
He yanked my hair to him and swung me off the couch. I whimpered and held in a cry.
"Don't waste my money again, got it?"
He continued smoking in front if me as I laid on the floor.
"Mhm"
I whimpered.
"What the fuck did I just say about the mumbling?!"
He yanked me up by my arm then gripped my waist.
"I-I'm s-sorry"
I stuttered, holding in a cry.
"You never learn"
He put out his cigarette using my arm.
"Ow ow!"
I pulled my arm back and held it. It hurt, it burned actually, but it still hurt. That's gonna leave a scar.
"That'll teach you not to waste money. Now, if I could only teach you not to mumble, that'll be great"
He lit up another cigarette and took a drink of some kind of liquor. I felt my phone buzz.
"Justin: Meet me at the park for lunch?"
I hid it, so Max couldn't see. Max will kill me if he sees Justin's number on my phone.
"No"
I typed back quickly and quietly.
"Justin: Pleeeeeeez"
My phone buzzed again.
"No"
I typed back again.
"Justin: I'm really hungry"
My phone buzzed.
"ok but not now"
I can't believe I typed that.
"See you at 1pm"
He texted back. I quickly deleted our conversation, so I don't get caught. Well, look on the bright side, I get to get out of this hell hole.
"I gotta go home, Max"
I stood up shakily.
"C'mere"
He stood up and pulled me close.
"Be a good girl next time, ok?"
He kissed me and I nodded.
"Love you"
He spanked me, causing me to gasp. If there's one thing I will never do, it's to have sex with Max. I already gave my virginity to a douchebag. I don't wanna make that mistake again. I rushed out of his apartment. My arm still hurt. So does my hand. I have a headache from Max yanking my hair. That shit hurts...a lot. I went into the bathroom of a 7-Eleven and did my makeup before I see Justin. It was 12:45pm. I better start going, so I made my way to the park. I can't believe seeing Justin is actually better than being with my boyfriend. It's pretty sad.
"Wow, you're early"
Justin walked up to me.
"Uhm, yea"
I nervously looked at my feet.
"You doing ok?"
He asked sweetly. Ugh, he's purposely doing this.
"yea, you?"
I looked at him again.
"I'm good"
Of course he is. He's got everything in the world.
"Do you want tacos?"
Damn, no matter how much I hate him, his eyes still take me away.
"Yea"
I nodded, and we started walking. Justin broke every promise he made to me, including the one with his hair. I'm not hurt about that one, but I'm disappointed that he cut his hair.
"Hey, give me a hug"
Justin stopped walking. As much as I didn't want to, I did it anyways. Today has been terrible, and a hug from anyone would be nice.
"What's wrong, Becca?"
Justin asked in the hug.
"Bad day"
Was all I said.
"Tell me"
He didn't break the hug.
"I'm not really feeling good. That's all I want to say"
I pulled away only to be pulled back.
"We don't wanna get caught together"
He muttered.
"Why?"
I looked at him.
"My, uhm...Selena will get upset"
He mumbled, not looking at me.
"Forget it"
I sighed and walked away, back home. I don't wanna talk about her. I can't wait until Justin opens his eyes and sees that Selena's only using him.
"No, I want you to stay"
He caught up with me and grabbed my arm gently. I flinched, stopped, then stared in his eyes, feeling his hand around my arm.
"...Ok"
I shook his hand away from me.
"Let's go"
He snuck me into a Taco Cabana. It surprised me that he remembered what I like from here.
"You still mad at me?"
He sat in front of me. I shrugged. I'm not sure how to answer that. I mean, he's trying so hard for something so small, for me to just smile at him. It almost makes me forgive him...but I remember what he did to me. I can't, I will never forgive him for that.
"I want your opinion...on Selena"
He studied every detail of my reaction to her name. I think I might've rolled my eyes or something.
"...No"
I stood up.
"No? what does that mean?"
He stopped me from walking.
"...I don't like her"
I walked to get our food.
"I got it, Becca"
Justin took the tray out of my hands.
"So...can you tell me why-"
"I answered your question. That's all I want to say. So unless you want me to leave..."
I stopped before I got too upset.
"I'm sorry...I won't bring it up again"
He mumbled. it was silent as we ate.
"...so what can I call you besides "Becca?"
He spoke again.
"Nothing"
I muttered.
"You know me. I have to call you somethi-"
"Are you sure about that?"
I cut him off. No, I don't know him...not anymore.
"What?"
He looked in my eyes.
"...I don't know you anymore, Just...in"
It hurt to say his name. For a moment I saw hurt in his eyes. I didn't feel bad. Not at all.
"Becca...what do I call you?"
He lowered his voice to a whisper.
"I said-"
"I want to call you something. Can I call you something nice?"
He looked at me with hope.
"...Fine, but don't call me anything related to love"
I muttered defeatedly.
"I'll call you my bae"
He smiled.
"No"
I glared.
"C'mon, do you want me to call you my bae or my baby?"
He purposely made me agree.
"...Fine"
I gave in.
"Yes, thank you, bae"
His words made me wince.
"Can we go?"
I stood up.
"Yea"
Justin led me out of the restaurant and back into the park.
