34: Opening Up

That night Taehyung and Jungkook didn't exchange a word to each other, almost as though they knew that the silence is what they need right now to calm down the environment. When Lisa came back, she gave Little Gem some meds for the pain of the bruises and then slept by his side that night. Jungkook and Taehyung found comfort sleeping on the couch. They didn't mind it though, they found themselves snuggled up close together to make space, if anything is this couch is bigger than what he was once use to sleeping on.

When the morning arrived, Lisa made them a small breakfast. Small because they didn't have enough rations so each had to eat something small. Little gem didn't speak at all since he woke up, unless it was with Lisa, who would check on his bruises.

As it began to close in on noon, Jungkook told his sister he was going to be back and took Taehyung out of the apartment room. Taehyung didn't complain or say anything as Jungkook drags him to the elevator and presses on the top floor.

So that's when Taehyung got the slight courage to speak, "Where are we going?"

Jungkook blinks just as the door opens and steps inside, "For a little air."

Taehyung furrows his eyebrows in confusion to this but regardless steps inside. The silence that floods between the two is more on the comfortable side than what Taehyung expected, and it must be because Jungkook is holding his hand tenderly as if to calm down the tension from rising, and that definitely worked.

When the elevator arrived to the floor, Jungkook takes Taehyung to a gated staircase. It wasn't even surprising for Taehyung anymore how Jungkook managed to open the lock with just a bobby pin, letting the pair inside while closing the door behind them. They walked up more dusty stairs before arriving to a door, in which Jungkook opened with ease.

Instantly they were hit with the fresh air of outside from the roof of the building. It's empty here, nothing in sight besides the view of telephone wires and other buildings, with the view of Busan in a distance with the beautiful bright sun. Since it's already fall, it's not as hot as it was before but it still felt like a nice temperature to be outside.

An instantly smile perks Jungkook's lips to the sight, sighing heavily that made Taehyung himself smile to how carefree he looks.

"Today feels nice," Jungkook says, followed by a small giggle, "Very nice."

It's odd the times where Jungkook has ever shown these types of emotions. He's usually very kept to himself, or don't often demonstrate when he's happy.

That's why it felt unusual, and yet welcoming.

It's a rare sight to see.

Taehyung was unable to hide his need to wrap his arms around Jungkook's waist from behind, holding onto him tightly, "I like seeing you happy."

For a moment Jungkook feels a slight paranoia since they're outside. He turns around and practically sighs in relief when he sees Taehyung still has his hood on as well. One may never know, Jungkook would rather not risk anyone spotting them from another building.

So he smiles softly and pecking his lips. However Taehyung holds onto the back of his neck and kiss him more deeply. Time just felt like it froze for that second, and Jungkook found himself feeling weightless to the world.

He needed this.

A moment to not feel stressed.

It always feels like that with Taehyung, as though there's nothing to worry about. Everything fees like it's going to be okay, at some point in life. Right now it feels heavy and hard, but it's going to be okay.
