Sweet Night - V
_________
There's something tender and soothing about the silence of this night. There's not a speck of noise to disturb it, only the calming deep breathes from Taehyung's parted lips as he lays his head on Jungkook's chest, escaping farther and farther away to the world where there's no darkness or glimmers of sparkling horror.
It's all peaceful.
Just like how Jungkook feels, peaceful.
His fingers caresses delicate patterns against the soft skin of Taehyung's arm around his torso, sensing the way a shiver would rush down his own body whenever he would graze his fingertips to make contact once again. There's nothing specifically wondering his colorful mind, just silly thoughts of this night, where he can't seem to fall into the safe haven of a deep sleep like Taehyung.
It's ironic to think that when he first came to Seoul, he had three goal alone; pursuit his career as an artist for his brother and sister stability, be as far away from his father as possible, and not get into any trouble.
Two of those things he's done or is accomplishing as of now.
The last one being a completely failure.
His own complete failure.
His chocolate doe eyes gently looks over at Taehyung, unable to help himself from caressing the gentle locks of his hair away from his closed eyelids. The raven texture threads against his fingers so gently and soft, clinging onto his skin as though they didn't want Jungkook to stop. This seemed to have relaxed Taehyung completely because he squeezes Jungkook tighter in his sleep and moves his face slightly on his chest, letting out a soft sigh before falling back into a deep slumber.
Jungkook's lips gapped as he stares at him, feeling a strong warmness over come his body as the realization slowly settles in his mind.
He didn't know.
Jungkook didn't know he was going to meet Taehyung and feel as though the broken pieces of his heart are finally mending together. As though the shivers around his body wasn't from a cold but from the soft yet heavy sound that would ooze out of Taehyung's lips like the the softest cloud in the daylight sky that's coated with warm honey.
None of this is what Jungkook expected to meet when he went to Jimin's futbol game for the first time, to fall for the man with the snarky tongue yet curious and dark eyes that observed Jungkook careful as though he was something worth studying and taking his time on.
It was not planned for Jungkook to fall in love with his tender soul and tatted skin. With his happiness that is the living embodiment of perfection through Jungkook's eyes.
He didn't expect to love someone as much as he loves Taehyung.
As his fingers slowly trail from his hair to his cheek, gently running the pad of his fingers along the side of his jaw and cheekbones, recording his memory of everything about this moment just so when he sees Taehyung happy with another man, he can cling onto this night where he was holding him in his arms and think about how perfect it felt.
A shakily breath comes out of Jungkook's lips, closing his eyes to stop the burn it began to feel as his heart pounds harder against his chest.
What if this is not real? This feeling is just his head making up things to cover up his loneliness?
Is this all in his head?
Are they still going to be best friends after this? Even if they both know there's something clawing their souls for something more?
