From Now On - SHINee

__________

The funeral is filled with people, most especially with Iodine's children.

Everyone here knew Woosung. Everyone here saw him grow up and be the gentle soul that he was.

Jungkook specifically saw him grow up.

Walking in this building, the community church, felt as though he was walking through the gate way of death, not knowing what awaits him on the other side.

Maybe he did know, but he refused to believe in it.

Refused to believe that it was true.

With an anxious heart race pounding, he walks down the isle through the sea of darkness, people making way by the entrance in shock to seeing him back but not excepting any less. Everyone is praying, heads bowed with eyes closed wearing all black. There's many sounds of crying, other words of murmuring prayers, many with just the loud of the silence.

So much silence beside the piano softly playing in the background.

But Jungkook doesn't stop moving, only let himself feel weaker and weaker with every step further ahead.

Especially when he looks up.

A rosemary coffin lays right in front of the podium, where the pastor is having his head down in his prayer.

What knocked Jungkook to the ground on his knees in complete breathlessness is the picture of Woosung on a large frame, right next to the coffin.

It was Jungkook's favorite picture of him.

One that he took himself.

It's the picture where he's looking at the camera with a bright smile, letting the soft summer air rake through his whirls of caramel hair with the sun light casting a beautiful glow to his melanin skin. Eyes sparkling as he looks beyond the lenses and to the person taking it, who was his whole entire world as they enjoy the soft moments of that day where they went on a date to a walk around the park.

An angel, that's what he looks like.

An angel.

Hands are around Jungkook now, from Jimin and Taemin, guiding him back to his feet so he can make it. Jungkook is shaking violently, his throat reaching its level of complete and utter agonizing pain as he struggles to breathe.

And he keeps walking.

Despite his shakily legs, the sway of his steps and the hitching of his breathing, Jungkook keeps walking without anything getting in his way until he reaches the finally row.

And he sees Woosung's face.

He couldn't handle it anymore.

Jungkook's whole face scrunches up and he drops to his knees, giving up on walking as he drags himself in a weak crawl to the coffin. Hiccuping sobs is bursting past his trembling lips, followed by small whines when his arms nearly gives up but he keeps going.

All the way until he reached the coffin and he he presses his hands against the edge, pulling himself up and forced himself to face him.

Facing the man who helped him grow up.

Who called him is Bambi.

Taught him everything on pursuing dreams and having goals to make him happy.

The man who loved him with every part of his heart.

Unconditionally.

He looks like he's sleeping, but his chest isn't moving and his hands isn't twitching in that habit whenever he senses a presence around him.
