Give Me a Reason [Zed Necrodopolis AU]

Zed groaned as he sat down in his seat for 1st period, he was pretty sure everything was sore. He could see Millie rolling her eyes as she drank her iced coffee.
"Problem princess?"
"Nope.. just didn't realize you were so dramatic." Zed scoffed at her accusation.
"I'm dramatic? Your the one that got a sick note just because you were a coward who didn't want to face me." Millie licked her lip before pulling it between her teeth nervously as she suddenly became really interested in her cup.

'That's what I thought..' Zed saw that she had her history book out and flash cards.
"Fuck.. fuck.." Millie looked up at him as he buried his face into his hands before tugging at the green hair on his head.
"You forgot about the quiz.. huh?" Millie asked, her tone surprisingly neutral.
"Yeah and if I don't at least get a C on it I can't play in Friday's game.. fuck I'm so screwed.." He never was the one to care about school but usually got by with C's  during the football season so he could play . He couldn't believe he had forgotten about a quiz..
However as he looked over at the perfectly written flash cards and highlighted notes of his partner he got an idea.

"Okay I'm desperate—-"
"Like that's news?" Millie snorted but bit her lip when felt Zed's glare.

"Like I was saying, I'm desperate... can I copy off of you?" The teacher had just shown up to the class, getting settled in before he started roll. Millie looked at him as if she was waiting for him to beg.

"Okay what do you want? I'll do whatever you want."
"Whatever I want?"
"Within reason! Come on princess.. we won't get caught we're all the way back here and honestly he probably wouldn't even care.. please I'm begging you I have to play. The teams counting on me..." She felt kind of bad for him, then she started thinking of how she screamed at him yesterday.
'Football is all that boy has going for him..' Addison's voice echoed in her thoughts.

"Fine.. just make sure you don't copy every answer though, that's too obvious."
"You don't have to teach me how to cheat." He spoke lowly, the way he said it sent a shiver down her spine. Zed noticed her unease but she was quick to snap out of it.

As the quizzes got passed around, Millie was quick to start filling in the bubbles. Zed was having a hard time seeing without making it obvious. His hand found its way to her bare thigh causing her to flinch, he brushed his thumb across her skin in an attempt to soothe her as he flicked his eyes back and forth from hers to her quiz.
She got the message, moving her arm and sweeping her long hair to the side to give Zed a clear view. His hand didn't move as his eyes went from her paper to his filling in bubbles. His hand felt abnormally hot on her thigh, she jerked her knee to the right but it sent his hand higher up her thigh.
Zed winked over at her but she ended up slapping his hand away.
'At least I was wasn't wearing a skirt today..' She notes as she took a look down at her short denim shorts.

Millie made her way to the bleachers for lunch again, this time Addison and Bree had beat her there.
"We should make this a thing." Bree beamed, as Addison waved Millie over to sit next to them.

"Is that like you asking to be friends?"

The girls laughed as Millie talked about ditching 4th period because of her bad day with Zed yesterday.
"Yeah but there's volleyball practice today so no skipping.. plus he hasn't bothered me today since I let him cheat off my quiz."

"He gets less annoying once he realizes he can't have you."

"Have you slept with him?" Millie raised an eyebrow as she questioned the cheerleaders.
"Nope, not interested and Bucky forbids it.."
"Who's Bucky?"
"He's my cousin, he's like the closest thing Zed has to a friend. He's the kicker on the football team now. He use to be on cheer but he wasn't getting laid so he switched to football." She couldn't help but snort as Addison described her eccentric cousin. Maybe the people at Seabrook High weren't that bad...
