It was the first day of school. I was cramp free. Grumpy free. And incredibly nervous. I'm used to being the new girl but this time was different for some reason and my anxiety was reminding me of that.
Note to self: I might want to start looking into medication for that. It seems like my anxiety is getting worse. I would need to let my Mom know when I got home. If I remembered that is.
I could hear my heartbeat inside of the car. I wasn't too worried about making friends, I had Sawyer, Levi, and Colson. They're all I needed. I was just afraid of the girls that come with going to school. As I mentioned before, not all of them have been as welcoming as they could be.
Levi parked his 2015 black mustang in the student parking lot and grabbed his bag from the trunk. He waited for me to get out of the car to start walking towards the school.
"Everything will be alright Liv. I've got you." I tried to listen to his soothing words but they weren't helping, in fact they made things worse. He was one half of the reason why I wouldn't be able to fly under the radar like I'm used to doing.
It wasn't the guys fault. Every school has heartthrobs and heartbreakers, which ever stereotype you prefer, it wasn't the guys fault that they happened to be ours.
My class schedule wasn't too horrible. This school has seven class periods each day. First I have Statistics, had to get my most boring class out of the way. Then I have AP Psychology with Levi. Followed by AP European History with Sawyer. I had Physics before lunch. I luckily had lunch with Sawyer and the guys. I was happy to know I wouldn't have to sit alone. It's hard for me to make friends. I'm way too shy for my own good. Marine Biology and AP English followed. Then I would finish up my day with Sawyer in Home Economics.
Levi and Colson pretty much had every class together, five out of the seven they shared to be exact. They had AP World History as their first period. Then JROTC for their third period, keeping the military tradition in the family. Followed by Weight Training to aid them with football. Then they had Environmental Science, taking it because it's an easy class, and their last period of the day was Honors English.
The classes they held separately were AP Psych and Honors Geometry on Levi's end and AP Art History and Calculus on Colson's end. One thing a lot of people don't know about Colson is that he loves to draw. When he was younger he always had a pencil and paper in his hand. Now he just draws on a more private scale.
I kind of wish he would let people see his art though because he's really good at it. Meanwhile, I'm still drawing stick figures. He tried to teach me once but I gave up after 10 minutes. I have a short attention span at times. It happens.
Sawyer and Colson were waiting for us near the front entrance of the school.
"You ready newb?" Sawyer asked a little too preppy for it to be 7:50 in the morning.
"Don't really have a choice." I was honest, it's the law that you have to go to school.
But there are also some really dumb laws out there, like in Alaska it's illegal to give a moose alcohol. Why someone needs to be told that is probably the reason we have school in the first place. But on the other end, these people also went to primary school so it brings me back to my original argument, why is it a law that you need to go to school when some people just stay dumb?
Colson noticed my thinking face. "What's going on in that head of yours?"
"Did you know it's illegal to give a moose alcohol in Alaska?"
They all looked at me like I was crazy. It was warranted, I'll give them that.
"It's also illegal to let your donkey sleep in your bathtub in Arizona."
